Anyone have a BluRay BURNER yet?

I'm looking into getting one for media storage. Is there anything affordable yet? I've seen a cheapish LG one but its not mac compatible.

The Lacie D2 bluray is pretty good, and works fine on mac:

Last time I checked they were too expensive, or not for sale yet.. I forgot, lol

We have one here at home, but it's not ours. It's pretty pointless.

For storage, it's quicker to just burn 4 regular DVDs.

Can someone bump this topic when Bluray is affordable?

k thx.

I think you can get an actual Bluray drive (player) for your PC for about $79

is that a player or burner? I figure I'll wait awhile before blue ray burners and discs are cheaper.. but my next laptop will have atleast a blue ray player so i can watch movies on the go

Not yet... havent needed one for anything

NaughtyRob 03-13-2009 09:42 PM

Burner would be nice so I can make BlueRay DVDs with my HD content.

Not worth is yet till the blanks come down in price.

I've got a LG GGW-H20L blu-ray burner, but candyflip is right, burning 4-5 dvds is faster ... guess at the moment it doesn't make much sense to buy one for data storage

You can get 1TB drives for $80, it's 100x easier to just store stuff on hard drives... :2 cents:

Reak AGV 03-14-2009 10:37 AM

Still dont have one, why would i need one anyways?

fris 03-14-2009 10:41 AM
