Italian researchers believe they have found the remains of a female "vampire" in Venice, buried with a brick jammed between her jaws to prevent her feeding on victims of a plague which swept the city in the 16th century.

I was expecting to see fangs or something
but it seems like the witch hunts it was more mass hysteria than anything else

more proof of religious intolerance and torture at the hands of christians.

we, Pagans, were burned, beaten and killed like this for thousands of years.

this should be written about differently, presenting her as a "vampire" totally robs her of her human existance, the woman was not a vampire, she was a human being, and she was tortured by religious fanatic terrorists.

these articles need to be written from the angle of truth, not "vampirism"

From the looks of the article, it wasn't murder. Rather, they believed decomposing corpses to still be alive.

also, since they are saying it could have been ritual, that could also mean she was ALIVE when it happened, they normally dont use dead people for rituals like this.

Burning at the stake, you were alive... they "exorcise" demons by basically killing you, lol
