I just saw ne feature in AdSense center

http://xs537.xs.to/xs537/09113/2009-03-12_045934647.jpg

and try to use it on some unused domains, but something missed up whit godaddy.

Anybody try this?

LiveDose 03-11-2009 09:08 PM

Is it just a parking program?

d-null 03-11-2009 09:09 PM

wow, that is new and pretty huge change of policy by google :thumbsup

wonder how that works out with their other policy of delisting or banning parked domains in the serps when they find them? :2 cents:

The pages look shitty and from what I've heard, they aren't really outperforming parking services. Like basically most of the higher paying advertisers are opting out of it because they figure it's more junk traffic than search or even content (which is probably true for SOME people's domains but certainly not for all), so that coupled with the CTR being bad because the pages are very vanilla and not enticing at all - just very underwhelming.

It'd be one thing if it was just a few people I've heard say this but it's been most everyone I've seen on NamePros including a bunch of people I know who have nice portfolios. Also, if you have a lot of domains, the process of moving domains to park on there is ridiculous - CNAME bs vs. simply changing nameservers so I've never had the urge to try it myself.

how do these parking pages make money? i mean unless the domain was really good like

god.com

i dont see how it can generate lot of money

Have one tutorial how to do it whit godaddy, but they don't allow adult domain.

I was think maybe they will allow that, because read on one forum and see some screenshots that google display porn ads in side on SERP...

only the really good ones generate money

think close misspellings/alternates too etc.

the thing is, ctr rates on parked pages are generally much higher than on regular sites with ontent too, so that is something to keep in mind as well

Good point. Speaking of which, i'm selling DICCE.com, popular misspelling of DICE.com (jobs website)

https://sedo.com/auction/auction_det...ction_id=51217

Ps: yeah, i'm a whore :P

doridori 03-11-2009 10:31 PM

damn no wonder that guy who registered

.cm

is crazy rich.

wizzart 03-12-2009 11:28 AM

where .cm can be register?

Si 03-12-2009 11:31 AM

i've tried it and it uses keywords from the domain URL and overall is shit.......

For example i parked a tube domain using it and it registered the word TUB as the keyword and displayed advert for bathrooms and bath tubs.

Overall not very good unless you have a good keyword domain

who 03-12-2009 11:42 AM

They generate much better money than sedo

You'd be surprised what Sedo can make if you spend a little time on the keywords here and there...the one thing you should never do is let them optimize the pages, because then you're almost guaranteed to make as little as possible. I once had an adult domain with obvious "big cock" traffic, and I think it was big cocks or big dicks that was their chosen keyword, making a whopping 2-3 cents per click. I put in a set of 10 very similar words, even the singular for those two, as the other categories words and watched how the clicks would do. It turned out either big dick or big cock was paying out 36 cents per click. I turned a $10/day name into a $100+/day name, because the clickthrough was over 50%, and I can guarantee AFD would have NEVER made that much on that domain, because their pages look so shitty the clickthrough would have probably been down another 10-20% and chances are they'd shove in the lowest CPC ads too.

That said, for adult I'd suggest them IF you have some time to tinker with keywords. Otherwise I'd suggest Parked.com. If you actually have a nice sized portfolio you intend to park and think you can make $500+/mo, I'd suggest BigJumbo.com. They are a skenzo feed, autooptimize pages pretty well, and generally pay out more for adult than most places. I say generally because on that same name I mentioned above, they were making a steady $60-$80/day vs. Sedo's $100+/day.

u-Bob 03-12-2009 12:02 PM

it sucks, seriously...

polish_aristocrat 03-12-2009 12:15 PM

parking for adult domains is pretty much dead, no matter what parking company or feed provider

my earnings are more that 10 times smaller than mid 2007 and I have some adult domains with natureal type'in traffic

using sedo pro now, it makes me next to nothing and I am too lazy to move the domains elsewhere, because I KNOW that in other places they'll earn next to nothing as well

polish_aristocrat 03-12-2009 12:19 PM

good cofirmation of the sad state of the adult domain parking & adult industry is that I get almost no domain inquireis anymore, while in the past I used to have them regularly

obviously, I don't send out inquiries anymore either, I stopped following the market, it's just dead
