Why is Wet Seal, the teenybopper brand/store teaming up with playboy?
 

Find it odd that Wet Seal has released a Playboy line of clothing, especially considering their target audience seems to be girls in their young teens. I know the bunny is a brand and such but still I find this a little along the lines of Tonka trucks and Trojan condoms teaming up.

I've always seen items like thongs and t shirts with the Playboy logo in those mall stores. It's nothing new.

umm hello, Playboy has marketed its clothing to teens via Hot Topic for years.

I asked a friend who was a manager of Hot Topic how they got away with it, and he didnt know, or even see problem with it,... i said, "she is 15 wearing Playboy shirt" lol the store sold bellybutton rings and clothing with playboy bunny to teen girls all day long.

anyway, no one rly cares when it comes to playboy, they contact girls before they are 18 and ppl see no prob with it

this is worse than the playboy shirts...can you imagine having a 15 or 16yr old daughter wearing this!???!?!

I like that

Easier for the government to pick out which kids are most likely getting molested by their parents. Wearing a playboy shirt to the 5th grade is a dead give away

I still think Playboy should go non-nude ala Maxim and they would then gain market share.

The girls around here refer to wet seal as "wet slut". I like it.

Playboy is the Disney of smut, They even have a Magic Kingdom. I gotta hand it to them for seeping into every day life from every angle possible.

Their trademark and clothing is all that is keeping them in business..

I still think playboy should try to team up with "bratz" how much could you get for a "playboy bratz?"

They tried it and it went poorly.

I wrote one of the Wet Seal catalogs. At the time, they were very jumpy about not having anything which seemed too naughty in the text. Like I couldn't use the words rave or raver to describe raver clothes because Wet Seal worried about the drug inferences. So I'm a bit surprised about the Playboy deal there.
