word of mouth business

word of mouth business seems to be one of the best, I know my business strives on it, and as we are pushing forward into mainstream I am noticing the same holds true.

Word of mouth has already spread for our mainstream business and clients are recommending future prospects to us.

To me that is the one problem regarding adult stuff, most people dont refer their friends to pay to see porn sites, sure they refer them to "free porn" sites but normally not pay sites.

Mainstream is sooo lucrative right now. I have to kick my self in the butt to do adult stuff but mainstream i enjoy. anyway... just starting a thread while i do morning emails. :upsidedow

Thats true, word of mouth is the best. Better from long term basis too.

I go to family events and people come at me with business now lol

I used to go and just keep my mouth shut about "what i do" etc... now when I come over its like we start talking business. "Oh I got a friend who says he wants to contact you for business" over and over,... you just cant do that with pron.

i am using what i know of adult and pushing into the future.

Nice! On that topic... I may have some good ongoing mainstream banner design work for you soon.

Will drop you a line if the deal comes through.

I still don't see why Ass to mouth would work better in mainstream..

US Customs gave me a hard time because they refused to believe that I did web development without a site of my own or business cards or advertisements.
He goes "How do you get customers?"
I said "Uhmm... it's the internet. You do some good work and word gets around. I'm constantly turning people away because it's too much, advertising would only make it worse!"

He gave me a look like that simply wasn't possible.

one of the first things i did was set up "fake mainstream front" business cards and all.

Been doing that for years even though the business was totally fake, i give out cards to friends and family, got hundreds printed in case...... however, never been hassled by customs. and if so, id give them my card and pull up my totally mainstream site lol

but As an American, i have to wonder, what kind of nazi shit is that asking what you do for a living to board a plane? LOL

and the irony of business is, you come to me for "virtual banners", Im known for them and have clients in my inbox now for them... and now for mainstream business i have to go to someone ELSE for those 5 foot "vinyl banners" now lol

but hey, just hit me up man, if theres business to do, I want to do it.

Thats hilarious... I know exactly what you mean. "real world" design stuff is a whole different world, mainly when it comes to actually getting real physical items created.

tranza 03-10-2009 09:05 AM

Oh, come on, "ass to mouth" is nice... hehehe

I was contacted by a rep for a major adult company that was trying to sell me advertising. He did not believe that one might have more business than they knew what to do with.
