Your opinions please... best CMS for paysites ?

If you were going to be setting up some paysite members areas, what CMS would you use, and why? (what features make it better than the others?)

XamoDoug 03-09-2009 12:22 PM

Reak AGV 03-09-2009 12:46 PM

Depends on the type of site. Your question is simply too broad, and most are not going to drop $20,000-30,000.00 on a Mansion type of CMS. Beyond that, there are many different ways and types of pay sites. Some are better custom. Others you may be able to find an out of box solution.

Sometimes... rarely... but sometimes..

Just to clarify - The price for Mansions MAS CMS is NOT $20,000-30,000.00 - BUT $4,595!!! It is also the most mature CMS in our marketplace and thoroughly tested over hundreds of clients over many many years. :2 cents::thumbsup

Hey Footsies,
Mansion customized my MAS for a small fee to do exactly what i needed it to do..

JamesK 03-09-2009 03:22 PM

Depends on what you want, really. Some people like it simple and as non technical as possible, some want the exact opposite.

Some high end ones are Carma, ElevatedX & MAS I think and there are more simple ones like SiteDepth.

pornguy 03-09-2009 03:24 PM

ElevatedX would get my vote as well.

hypedough 03-09-2009 03:28 PM

ElevatedX is the way to go. Don't listen to those backing the more expensive CMS products, if it's out of your price range don't stretch yourself or your budget. ElevatedX is a great CMS with even better support.

Puremeds-J 03-09-2009 03:44 PM

ElevatedX or custom in house

MAS from Mansion for loads of reasons. MAS is an outstanding product on it's own, but they can customise the product for you and will do so to your exact needs, you can run several sites from one MAS installation...but....and the big BUT....the one thing thats sets them apart is their professionalism and their service. IMO nothing short of outstanding!

I agree. It kind of depends on what you have going on with your sites. At MRPW we don't use a 'CMS' but rather a custom script. All the Member's Areas have the same basic design and structure so these days it only takes us, literally, 15-30 seconds to update a paysite. Of course, ALL the work goes in 'up front' - generating the galleries, uploading the content, etc - so it's basically just cutting-and-pasting some lines of code on a HTML index page. This works for us but I can see how even this simplicity will become more complex as we approach fifty websites.

$20,000-$30,000 for a CMS? Wow! LOL

All of my 2009 pay sites are tube hybrid pay sites. So for that, you are doing a modified, or custom script, that is not an out of the box solution like some mentioned in this thread.

ProG 10-29-2009 09:35 AM

In the end, everyone goes custom. It's a matter of whether you want to waste your time and money setting up a box solution or go custom from the start.
