Mainstream SUCKS. Net-60 payouts?! 12hr lag on stats?! loll
I've been getting into making some mainstream sites lately, and in some ways it's great ... like opening so many new channels of getting free traffic that aren't available to adult sites, but the sponsor / affiliate programs for mainstream are so Goddamn far behind adult when it comes to taking care of the publisher that it is pathetic.
Net-60 pay? Why not just call it what it is ... making interest off of MY money for two months before paying me. Stats that refresh every 12 or 24 hours? What a JOKE! I have already sent bitchy emails to two companies I'm working with about this. They like to use the term "industry standard" as their excuse for having crappy stats. Well, I guess they right ... sadly. Anyway, just needed to bitch and say that this experience has made me remember what parts I LOVE about the adult side of the industry. :thumbsup:mad::thumbsup:mad: -P |
you are just looking at the wrong programs if this is what you have gathered

who the fuck has a net-60 payment? net-30 is pretty standard though. work with multiple networks if you have a problem with it. many payout on the 15th of the month and others the 30th. hell, if you're doing any sort of volume, most will arrange weekly or biweekly wires directly to your bank account. |
I got terminated about a week ago for creating my own landing pages. Seems they don't like anyone using their own creatives.
Mainstream is so protective that it often paralyzes affiliates into just pushing traffic to them and not doing any selling. |

if you manage to make 10,000 in adult you will manage to make 500 in mainstream, if you spend $10,000 in adult to make $15,000 youll spend $10,000 in mainstream to make $5,000.
its hyped up by those who never really tried it to a large degree |
you should work with different programs

Whenever I dabbled in mainstream I always used Neverblue Ads. They were usually pretty good as far as CPA or CPL ads went and usually had the exact ad I needed per site I was running.
I messed around with ADBRITE however if you are running low traffic sites in niche or sub-niche areas no one will buy an AD on your site usually and will leave you with the usually low CPC provided by ADBRITE. I haven't messed with AZOOGLE however I did use Amazon's affiliate program which does amazing around christmas etc and did pretty well on off months and if you run a site selling toys etc it is definitely something you may want to look at. Last I checked they had two options ranging from raising commision % based on sales which is what I did, or a basic 5% ... I guess it depends on personal prefence. Then there is always adsense. |
Net 30 or 60 is standard. You'd be surprised to know that almost every affiliate program is flexible to shortening those to net 15 and weekly payouts once you show volume.

the coffee thing at http://nonadult.com pays every 2 weeks on a 3 week lag.
