Obama "overwhelmed" and "too tired" staff says

Quote:

Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown. Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told.
Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

Well that explains all the incoherent decisions he has been making as of late. :thumbsup:1orglaugh

Matt 26z 03-08-2009 03:45 PM

Yeah, just what we need.... a president that works too much and doesn't get enough rest.

We need Bush or Reagan back... the two kings of vacation time.

Malicious Biz 03-08-2009 03:48 PM

"OH YEAH! WHAT ABOUT BUSH??"

"What the fuck does this topic have to do with bush?"

"HEH, I SURE TOLD HIM! *sits back with smug smile and admires obama poster on wall.*"

Vacation Days

Bush W: 977 days
Clinton: 152 days
Bush Sr: 543 days
Reagan: 335 days
Carter: 79 days

Would you rather have someone who was overwhelmed and worked though it.... or someone who just went home?

Do you think a President stops making decisions when he is on vacation? :1orglaugh:error

Obama cant even give visiting dignitaries the respect they deserve.

Why is it you people keep reverting to Bush? You act like it would hurt me to bring up Bush, it is kinda humorous.

»Rob Content« 03-08-2009 04:09 PM

So you'd rather he not worry about the country and take naps?

Dude there is a difference between not worrying and "offending the greatest ally of the United States of America because you are too tired to properly welcome visiting dignitaries".

He can take plenty of naps he still will have to DEAL with this financial crisis, becoming overwhelmed with it in 47 days is pathetic. We are in trouble because this President is an amateur leader.

Do you think that canada is a socialist country then? Because most of the stuff Obama is trying to do is the same shit that's been going on here for decades and I gotta say, I don't see the commie takeover happening ... ever :P

It's fun to spew words we don't fully understand and imply we have understanding huh? When people speak about things they know SQUAT about it hurts EVERYONE. Do some real study of the things you speak of and stop trying to be an armchair political analyst it's a disservice to all the readers here. :warning

So in terms of "overall success" do you think that Canada ranks above the USA?
How about in terms of "world financial power" do you think Canada ranks above the USA?
How about "military power" do you think Canada ranks above the USA?
That is not to say that Canada isnt a successful nation, it just doesnt even compare to the United States in terms of overall ranking. Seriously.

Also I should mention that Communism is not Socialism so your whole "commie" comment is a little perplexing.

What do any of those things have to do with helping the people? Shouldn't the "richest most powerful" country provide and give back to the people that make it what it is? That's how we look at it in Canada. Down there, things like social health care = communism. Fuck off, get real. Sweden isn't overrun by commies either, but enjoy one of the best lifestyles in the world! Canada may not be all big and bad like our neighbours to the south, but neither do we have people turned away from hospitals because they don't have health care (the ssytem has it's flaws, but it does function and does what it's meant to), we don't have even a 10th of the issues that people in the US are facing as things collapse. I'd say that makes it a pretty successful nation that will weather the economic storm far better than the big bad boys with the shiny guns and monster bank loans.

kane 03-08-2009 04:24 PM

I'm sure he is not the first, nor the last, president who has gotten into office and found the job to be a little overwhelming at first.

No usually social health care is called "Socialism" otherwise it would be called "party health care" or "motherland health care". :1orglaugh

You cannot be denied emergency medical services in the United States, whoever told you that is wrong. Stop watching Michael Moore movies they are inaccurate hyperbole.

You dont have a tenth of the population we do either. You would be surprised how many problems you really do and WILL have during this crisis.

I lived in Canada for two years... Medical wise, life safety, child safety, overall health, true freedom - they fucking kill America on. And tax wise, once you add in my healthcare costs, state costs, etc... we pay more - not them.

So who really is distributing wealth more? America has Canada beat hands down.

Private hospitals deny people all the time. IE: People with money get help, the rest can fuck off. Shot in the head? Better have an Insurance card.

Social healthcare does not mean socialism. We have several social healthcare plans, many that work but could be improved, and we are not a socialist country. Without these Social Systems our entire Country would have failed many times over - it would be Mexico.
