and on a more serious note... i think Ron Paul had a lot of great things to say. I think the way he said them, tended to put him a little out of touch with common people and their understanding of how things worked i.e. chanting common points like "get rid of the federal reserve", "abolish income taxes" etc which seem radical on the surface, no matter how much they might make sense in practicality.

However, the people who aggressively supported him not only drowned out the message with their own idiocy... they became the primary reason a reasonable discussion couldn't be had to begin with.
