Need some opinions regarding domains...
I finally acquired a pretty good .com name on the secondary market, before this I have also registered the .net, .info, and .mobi and just paid the reg. fee since they were available.
The only major extension I need is the .org ...so I email the guy in the whois and he comes back and he said he wants $500 for the domain. I have not tried to bargin with him yet. In the first email I used the real unexperience guy trying to make like I am not sure what a .org would go for, etc. (he did mention it is worth for what someone is willing to pay for the domain.) What is your opinion guys, the domain can be used for mainstream or adult, should I just forget about it, haggle with him, just obtain it to have the major extensions. What strategy would you guys use, I would pay $250 Thanks for helping...:thumbsup |
Offer him the $250 and that's your final offer. Like he said it's worth what someone is willing to pay and thats what you're willing to pay. If he doesn't think it's worth it to sell for that price I wouldn't lose any sleep over not having the .org.

i only care about .coms

its more important to have .coms in close range on your name
if you own cars.com its more important to get car.com than cars.net |

So it might just make sense to save the money for the other .com without the s. (singular) instead of that .org damn domains are addictive... |
I wouldn't worry about it right now, I'm assuming you plan on developing the dot com?
|
Don't worry too much about it. offer him $250 and say final offer.
.org ain't as good as .com or .net so just go for it. |

Is it a .org site? As in YMCA.org or is it anal.org? No point in the latter.

If you're not going to develop it, why is the .org so important? If you want it so you can flip it in a package with the .com then I wouldn't buy the .org because its most likely not going to add enough value to offset what you you'll pay for it. Although, most of this is speculation because I don't even know the domain and its estimated value.

you're only willing to pay 250 because he offered it for 500. dont let his offer affect how much its worth to you.

Sence i got .net the .com one went from unactive to now a godaddy parked site.. Im not sure what to do. |
Offer him $250 and that's it :)

I personally wouldn't bother with the other extentions unless I was making a paysite or something similar. Of course this is assuming its an adult domain, mainstream can be a different story, especially depending on the niche. Offer $200.
