So, without all the bullshit bragging...

how many of you are really worried about the economy and the long term effect it may have on your business?

chupachups 03-06-2009 07:11 PM

Not worried. Adapt to the environment and carry on :2 cents:

pornask 03-06-2009 07:11 PM

hasn't affected me in any way at all. I just wish it got a bit worse so real estate prices here in Alberta take a big fucking dump already

Barefootsies 03-06-2009 07:12 PM

Honestly, I am not worried at all.

My living expenses are low compared to a lot of people (as posted in other thread).

I can shoot 8 scenes (one three girl shoot) for a song. Clips money still rolling in nicely. I still recoup my expenses in 30 days. Sure some memberships are down some weeks, and traffic patterns are erratic as fucking hell.

But I am expanding in so many directions that even if some 'half' take off. I will still grow. If any one of them explodes, or all of them explode. All the better. More money for me.

:2 cents:

polish_aristocrat 03-06-2009 07:14 PM

I'm not worried about the economy.

I'm worried about other things that affect my business much more.

ChubbyChecksRob 03-06-2009 07:14 PM

yeah i'm in Vegas and i'm waiting for the housing market to go down as well. It should happen any day now.

me too.. i have really cut back on monthly expenses.

i met a guy today at lunch that told me how well he was doing with rental properties and i was like WTF.. he then told me he only does section 8 housing and again I was like WTF.. i have only heard nightmares about that...

he told me that he has a relationship with the housing authority and they tell him who he should rent to and who he should not rent to. they keep records on all the people in the system..

he has over 30 houses and not one has been trashed yet..

anyway, i mention this because there is always opportunity in any economy as long as you have a little cash to invest..

LiveDose 03-06-2009 07:23 PM

Multiple streams of income. Not worried at all.

Yep I have heard the same on Section 8. 'Some' landlords love it because they are paid like clockwork from the state. I guess the upkeep part becomes a numbers game, but they get some kinda 'head's up' or list like you had mentioned.

There is ALWAYS opportunity. Just some have more return, and some require more work.

BlackCrayon 03-06-2009 07:26 PM

Well since the majority of my business these days relies on selling to small-medium businesses, whatever effects them effects me. I haven't seen too much effect although I do get the odd comment that they economy has hit them, blah blah but they still buy.

IllTestYourGirls 03-06-2009 07:32 PM

If you are not worried about the economy you have your head in the sand :2 cents:

Since I only pay my models $40-50, by the end of the day it's all profit :)

Deej 03-06-2009 07:41 PM

Honestly, Im not worried... because I have yet to be effected...

I mean, i guess some clients want to haggle or arent paying on time...

But... that just means you have to get new clients...

candyflip 03-06-2009 07:47 PM

This week was our best week ever, but only thanks to mainstream ventures.

tony286 03-06-2009 07:47 PM

i worry if it keeps going the way it is, it will start to hit us harder. The good thing is compared to bricks and mortar we can market to the world not a 20 mile radius.

Yes but I want good customer service which would be harder to get if I'm skimping on the price....When a woman gets out of my van, she made more money more easily than she's gonna make all day...

I've caught women and after they tricked with me, they hit up the dopeman and went back home for the day because they don't need to work anymore that day.

GirlBri 03-06-2009 07:52 PM

yea not worried. go with flow, and roll with punch.

yup I'm not running a local biz here.. I market sites to the whole world and unless it gets 100 times worse there will still be people that can afford a $24.95 charge for porn monthly.. I do work harder and harder now to make the same as what I use to make with no effort but if it means staying self employed I'll do it for now and make bank once this economy gets better

yeah, i find myself spending more time looking for obscure ways to generate free traffic..

Barefootsies 03-06-2009 07:59 PM

Agreed.

It would have to get a lot worse for me to be worried. Especially with all the new shit I am working on.

Honestly, my biggest fear is not even about me. It's more about my sister, friend(s), girlfriend losing their job and wanting to move in or something like that. I would not want them on the street, but I also do not want roommates.

**shudders**

notoldschool 03-06-2009 08:33 PM

If your not worried your not making real money and most likely have little to lose.

i get out just plenty, considering I have been on cruise control since 03. Hell i dont even remember what it was like to go to an actual workplace other than my home office. I spend most of the day with my wife and kid wondering how I can make more money. When I had my child i started to really worry about the bigger picture. I now feel I have more to lose.

Ah. I get you now. Family man.

I stand corrected. I see your point of view now. If you have more than yourself to worry about, then I can see why there would be more worries. I, in turn, have little family. So I do not think in that context.

My apologies.

Mr Pheer 03-06-2009 09:58 PM

I'm not all that worried, but I'm being cautious regardless. My adult stuff runs on autopilot, but in the past couple of weeks I've started laying down the foundation for a new network of 350 adult sites. My maistream stuff is still doing well, but you cant be too careful.

They great thing is, once the new sites done, they will also run on autopilot. Then I can build more mainstream. Rinse & repeat. Should easily have 1000 more sites going by the end of the year.

okok 03-06-2009 09:58 PM

So what I wonder is: who's winning? Isn't "the economy" a zero-sum game? Who's making out like a bandit right now?

NaughtyRob 03-06-2009 10:10 PM

Not really worried about it affecting long term, sales are already getting better, no bullshit.

Fucksakes 03-06-2009 10:19 PM

not worried.. if it gets bad enough.. I know some sucker will still be paying for my beer when im on welfare.

"It will never get taht bad for me, I networked way to much to ever be in such a situation"

nothing wrong with doing both! i love it

Antonio 03-06-2009 10:42 PM

Well, if they move oyur cheese buy yourself some fucking caviar.

Right now there are probalby thousands of much easier ways to make money that adult, aslo I don't think that adult will bounce back, dating and cams might but the rest... I don't think so.

DWB 03-06-2009 11:32 PM

Today I sit here and can tell you I only feel a little pinch on SOME of my pay sites, but in other avenues of my business I'm still doing very well, so I can't complain yet.

With that said, I think shit is going to get VERY, VERY bad in the near future and that scares the shit out of me.

We are printing money and putting ourselves in more debt to get out of debt. Now, I'm not an economist but anyone with 1/2 a brain can see that is a BAD idea that will end in total failure.

So yea, the shit is gonna hit the fan sooner or later and I'm fucking worried about it.
