Question about the GOTH Niche.

Is the bondage, girls in latex type of content considered Gothic?

Martin 03-05-2009 10:52 AM

Nobody in the Goth Niche around here?

pornguy 03-05-2009 10:57 AM

No I think that would fall into the bondage niche..

:)

It cross sells pretty well sometimes.

Sadly even the " GOTH " sites dont have the actual thing that GOTH is.

alexchechs 03-05-2009 10:58 AM

Yeah that is more bondage niche but sometimes there is some crossover

Martin 03-05-2009 11:00 AM

Thanks folks.. Guess we'll have to make do :)

I think the peeps within those areas don't like to be grouped together, but as far as I 've seen goth and punk girls often matriculate to the latex and bondage work.
Glamour fetish stuff like myfetishdiary.com is often pornstars and non goth/punk hotties as well, but i usually see it sold alongside sites like godsgirls and burningangel.

I'd say from a niche perspective that it fits into a broader "general alternative" category and shares a cross section of a talent pool, but on a micro level corsetry and latex, bondage stuff, though often elements of goth smut, is not goth itself-

No, it is not. Not true goth, anyways. That's just considered bondage / fetish / BDSM. Just like taking a preppy girl and putting black eyeliner on her with a black wig doesn't cut it either.

Easy with the big words, You will scare the natives and they will think you are crazy rather than knowledgeable. :)

Well said, glad I'm not the only person with a decent vocabulary around here :winkwink:

It wont last long. Being on the boards and such turns into a time issue and you end up taking short cuts and then one day your at the mall talking to a friend and you smile and realize that you turned your head sideways. :)

...loves the goth girls

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 03-05-2009 12:32 PM

latex and whatnot always did alright as filler content when i ran some goth stuff. there's not always alot of good goth/alt content to run, so you gotta fill those spaces.

tranza 03-05-2009 01:01 PM

I don't think so, it's just a latex material...

I think that the gothic, latex, and bondage niches can often be sold alongside one another. Just because something fits one of those three niches, however, does not mean it is synonymous with the other two. They can often complement one another, however. Blue Blood's SpookyCash has a whole site devoted to one area of crossover between those niches with RubberDollies which features goth girls and similar in and out of rubber couture.

Here are a couple of images I shot for the site:

this niche sucks. i have high targeted google/yahoo traffic and the conversions suck. I thin most are curious more then buyers. Just my 2 cents though.

Spunky 03-05-2009 09:19 PM

Spookycash has great stuff

What sort of key words are you using to promote which sites? I might be able to help or at least make suggestions.
