I actually ran into Dave Matthews in Seattle today. I had to drop my cat off at the surgeon for the inevitible that should of been done weeks ago... the guy who was walking by stopped and asked what was in the pet carrier as I was locking my car. He peeked at my cat and went on down the sidewalk. Didn't phase me although I thought he looked familiar. When I walked into the surgeon's office.. the girls at the desk were asking me if I got his autograph. I said "whose?" Then they told me who I'd been talking to. I guess he lives a couple of blocks from there. After the office visit I went to the cafe nearby and got lunch to go. He was walking out as I walked in and said "The cat doesn't get lunch?"

Strange world..

PK, My 9 year old is the biggest Dave Matthews fan on the planet. For his first concert I took him to see Dave down in Dallas back in May. Had decent seats in the back of the floor but when I saw how jazzed my kid was about it I worked Ebay till I was able to get 3rd row tickets at the last minute. My kid listens to the CD's over and over and knows the songs word for word and when he came on and started playing my kid went nuts. One of the security guys saw how excited he was and escorted him to the front near the stage and Dave gave a little nod to him when he saw him enjoying the show. Made all the $ and hours driving worth it. All I heard on the way home was how cool it was and when was the next show lol

Funny story. Had a relative that was in security and got me work every now and then at good concerts. Did security for Metallica and was posted to watch the door to the dressing room under the stands. The stagehands were setting up the stage and I was watching and all of a sudden some guy was standing next to me looking around. He had short hair, a ratty old t-shirt and some cutoff shorts. He kinda looked lost to me. He started walking towards the dressing room and I ran after him and grabbed him by the arm and asked him where he was going. He turned around and looked at me like "oops" and fished in his pocket and pulled out a badge. It was James Hetfield. I had seen a few pics of him with his new look and short hair but he looked nothing like the pics I had seen. Only after I saw the badge did I recognize him. I expected him to toss ME out or something but he was cool about it. Came back out a little bit later and chatted for a bit. Told me how their tour plane was based in our town and was telling me some of the weird stuff they had /did on their plane. Said Lars liked to fly wearing nothing but silk boxer shorts and he had a little meditation room in the plane. Was pretty cool. During the actual concert I was near the stage and at one point he gave me a little wave. Nice to know sometimes stars can be normal too.
