any of you ever had a halo bolted to your skull?
 

I had a friend that broke his neck and had to wear one for a long damn time... I can only imagine how bad that must suck to have that thing screwed into your head.

When I used to be an Angel I kept taking off my halo when I went into restaurants. Apparently this is a big no no upstairs so God welded my halo to my skull.

A kid in my highschool had one from a car wreck. He would wear a cowboy hat on top of it. LOL

I had to wear a full body cast for nearly 2 years when I was in my mid to late teens, after having spinal surgery to correct a curvature. That's as close as I've come to the halo traction.


But I looked after tons of patients that were in the halo traction, and yes it is quite a freaky thing to look at, I can only imagine what it would be like to be banged up enough to require it, and be in it.
