Neither, visit Nippon, beautiful country.

I have never been to Puerto Rico, but I do not picture it as being somewhere I would want to live. Not sure I would want to visit even.
I just went to Hawaii for the first time, fully expecting it to be a one-time thing. No way. I will be back. That place is beautiful. http://fubarwebmasters.com/galleries...080/z12102.jpg http://fubarwebmasters.com/galleries...080/z13420.jpg http://fubarwebmasters.com/galleries...080/z10943.jpg |

hawaii and go to maui. stay in wailea. Great resorts there. Grand Wailea, 4 seasons, etc. are there. Anything else around the island you can drive to and visit. my 2cents.
|
I lived in Puerto Rico for a year and I've visited Hawaii....Hands down, go to Hawaii..Along with Belize, it's the most beautiful place that I've ever seen.
Only way you should go to PR is if you're leaving from the east coast and want to save money on airfare........And then you should only visit the west coast of PR. |
Maui, I suggest a Villas at Kapalua for all 4 days. You can do a different activity each day if you even feel like leaving your villa. They are rented though the Kapaula Resort hotel and are nice and ocean front w/private beach and not terribly expensive.
Went to Puerto Rico last year and did the whole island, and there are some nice ecosystem sites there & old San Juan/fort is interesting / Biolumenescent bay has to be one of the coolest things on the planet / james bond radio telescope / beaches in Rincon are nice, but its a far cry from Hawaii. Its really an impoverished place for the most part and driving a car there is an experience in itself. |
Hawaii hands down...

Go to the Virgin Islands. Puerto Rico is only like 45 minutes away. You can go to both places.
|
I'll second Maui Four Seasons in Wailea.
My wife and I try to go at least once or twice a year to unwind. Its been ranked the best resort in the US and it lives up to the hype. You'll be pampered and never want to leave. Maui is the one place where when I leave I am already planning the next trip on the plane ride home. On a side note, if you choose Maui as your island go with Wailea area (Four Seasons, Fairmon Kea Lani, Grand Wailea). It's on the south side of the island and it has more sun and less humidity. |
Hawaii for sure
|
I hear that Puerto Rico is amazing all year around
