best way to get your cat to eat?
 

My cat needs to gain weight. Have any of your been through this before?

Don't feed it cheap food. Go and talk to someone at a specialty pet shop.

Even PetSmart or Petco will do, if you have no other option.

get another cat.. I have one cat that tries to eat everything.. even the dog food, its like she dont want anyone else to eat.. and than she pukes it.

we need to feed the dog when she isnt around and make sure the other cat gets to eat.

I would highly suggest that you get your kitty in to the Vet for a check up. If it is too thin, there could be an underlying cause such as worms. If it is just that kitty needs a better diet, your Vet can recommend something. :)

My vet gave her something to regulate her thyroid but I'm pretty sure my vet sucks. I was hoping in addition to that I could put some weight on her by giving her tasty food.

Ugh. Hyperthyroidism I take it. If he put her on methimazole, make sure you take her in for routine bloodwork regularly. As for food, unfortunately there really isn't anything that she can eat to put much weight back on her. Still, your best bet would be to try out different types of quality canned cat food (stay away from the dry crap). Science Diet, Purina or Iams would be your best choices. Try different types and flavors until you hit on something she likes.

Try just giving it tuna in oil - which will be much more fattening than tuna in water :)
