I only get into my car 1 or 2 days a week. Usually to do my "banking day" where I gather any checks and go to the bank and get any official checks made that I need done.

I tune in to 97.1 and there is some kinda top 40 bullshit music. I am like, "WTF!?!?!"

So I call a friend who drives to work on a daily basis and he tells me they asked the hosts to take a pay cut and Tom elected to tell them to fuck off. What does he care? He gets paid either way because of his contract.

So CBS says, OK, we will change the format and does so...

Wow... LA radio without Tom Leykis is like Vegas without hookers or even strippers... Might as well be at Disneyland.

when Stern left the terrestial radio waves it was horrible - i really went through serious withdrawal symptoms. radio shows are a routine part of life for tens of millions of people - funny how important they become but they are there in the background and when a radio show personality suddenly disappears it's a shock to the system. radio is brutal when they fire people, they dont give the listeners any warning - i remember about 15 years ago when the station I listened to Stern on, i woke up one day and he was gone - there was country music - i thought it had to be a joke, it wasn't.

Leykis will pop up on a new station or satellite radio soon.

I am in my car once a week. I don't need satellite radio...

Seems to be a great deal of change in radio these days. Sucks :(

Radio is a dying medium. Personally i hate talk radio shows, epecially morning talk radio with the retards who try hard as hell to be as cheery and funny about anything. Stern was a huge exception though. The only time i was awake early enough to listen to him was when i was working midnights at a shithole factory. Listening to him the last couple hours of the shift really helped me forget where i was.

have you heard Jason Ellis lately? his show is worth listening too on Faction
