Sick people that leave their house. I dislike them very much.

Well I guess under certain circumstances you have too, but people who go out to attend social gatherings while they have a cold or a touch of the flu need a good swift kick in the ass. I go to a house warming this weekend and like 4 people there are sneezing, coughing, hacking, blowing their nose etc. Today I wake up and I feel the beginning of something. Back is a little stiff, sore throat, feeling tired. :disgust

I asked all the sick people there if they liked being sick so much they felt the need to share their germs with the rest of us. No reply just funny looks.

WiredGuy 02-23-2009 08:37 AM

You should go to a social gathering now that you have it too :)

Why not? Everybody else does. Spread the love.lol

Sosa 02-23-2009 08:56 AM

Yeah that crap pisses me off too. You will be in line at the grocery store and the person in front of you is sitting the hacking up crap and coughing all over. Exactly what I want to walk through when you are done checking out. Or even worse when it is the cash register checker doing it.

HorseShit 02-23-2009 09:05 AM

pretty annoying

LiveDose 02-23-2009 09:06 AM

It is stupid. I never understood that. When I am sick the last thing I want to do is leave my house.

fuzebox 02-23-2009 09:25 AM

I hate it especially on airplanes.

missipissi 02-23-2009 09:29 AM

I hate leaving the house when I am sick but it does feel unavoidable. I always seem to come down with something when I have to go out of the house.

Martin 02-23-2009 09:32 AM

Something is definitely settling in here. Got the chills. Can't get warm. Awesome.

Some people can't help it and can't stay at home for 3 months on end, just because your immune system is crap.

3 months? If you're sick for 3 months you have HIV alright. Stay home for 3-4 days eat some soup and STFU.:321GFY

dial 02-23-2009 09:44 AM

I had some horrible type flu last week, turned into a upper respiratory infection

I stayed in bed for 3 days straight, and unfortunately I couldn't stay in bed any longer, I have to work

I am still coughing a lot, but not contagious according to the doctor, you expect me to sit at home for 1.5 weeks while this cough goes away because you are paranoid and can't wash your hands properly?

pornguy 02-23-2009 09:47 AM

Worse than that is sick kids going to places where there are other kids.

Hey dopey, you know the flu is airborne right? Washing your hands doesn't mean shit. Did you also know the flu could be fatal to some people out there? So yeah next time you feel like leaving your house because you don't like being home that long just think about the grandmother with a heart condition you might take out.:thumbsup

hey dopey, I went to the doc and asked him, he said it was just drainage

and if you are that susceptible to germs around you, YOU are the one that shouln't be leaving YOUR house, because, unfortunately, you can't control what others do, but you CAN control what YOU are doing

Tom_PM 02-23-2009 09:59 AM

If it's not contagious then thats besides the point he's trying to make I think.
People who are still sick AND contagious (or who dont know) should stay home. Thats hard to dispute when the evidence suggests they do more harm than good. If you lose income by staying home genuinely sick, then that blows. You should have enough paid sick leave to make it through any common bug.

what if you work for yourself and have deadlines to meet for clients? should I stay home for 1.5 weeks until my cough is gone? lol...whateva

shit, it is going on 2 weeks for me right now and I still have a nasty cough

Tom_PM 02-23-2009 10:07 AM

No of course not, but you've been told you are not contagious. If you were contagious and worked for yourself in a remote office, then no problem either IMHO. It's not like your'e going to try to cough on people you walk past, lol.
But if you worked in a cubicle near 50 other people then thats what sick leave is supposed to be for, because you could put half the workforce in their sickbeds.

TommyM 02-23-2009 10:10 AM

well just get your health in shape, then you wont catch that cold - I havent been sick for over 15 years just for that reason..

ADL Colin 02-23-2009 10:13 AM

I thought this had something to do with people cutting out on their mortgages

potter 02-23-2009 10:15 AM

cry me a river. it's good for your immune system to be exposed to that shit.

polish_aristocrat 02-23-2009 10:16 AM

there might be other reasons for chronic coughing and blowing your nose, other than flu

NicAngel 02-23-2009 11:25 AM

wash your hands more or keep a bottle of hand sanitizer with you.

Chronic bronchitis, for one (It sounds like a nasty cold most of the time but is not contagious.)

However, I know many people with lowered immune systems. When I'm sick, I am respectful and don't expose them to my germs.

Kids are kids though. They share their germs like crazy, especially in school and daycare. It's a snot factory. There's no hope of them not catching something in those places and bringing it home.

xmas13 02-23-2009 11:59 AM

Exactly... :2 cents::2 cents:

I could be in a room full of sick people and I wouldn't catch anything... I get sick so rarely that I haven't even been to a doctor in over 5 years other than a cholesterol check.

Yeah that is bullshit, especially with the cashiers.

The Duck 02-23-2009 01:11 PM

I would have to agree. They have no respect.

TheDoc 02-23-2009 01:15 PM

So? The more you get sick the healthier you are. The less you get sick, doesn't mean the better off you are.

That's why most of you get sick so easily at shows. You have no life, no interaction with people, children, etc.. You think not getting sick means you are healthy. How incorrect you are.

And proof is in this post.

Drake 02-23-2009 03:16 PM

It's strange when sick people go to the gym

My brother gets a slight cold and that every year and has it for 3 months on end, usually stuffy nose, slight runny, and a cough, usually during winter time, doctor says nothing he can do about it but let it run its course... so by your standards he should avoid work, social interaction, and doing other stuff for 3 months, because your mommy led you a sheltered life where you rarely got sick or exposed to anything and now you're immune system is like a little sissy nancy girl and you don't want to catch a cold.

Yeah, and the peanut butter sandwich you got at the store and are walking down the street munching away on could also kill some innocent passerby, maybe you should eat your PB&J at home? Or how about the laundry detergent you use to wash your clothes could put a random kid you accidentally bumped into walking down the street eating your PB&J into an allergic reaction, how about you stay home instead?

Get over it.

JD 02-23-2009 03:25 PM

the airplane one really pisses me off. I'm almost always sick after getting on a plane :/

Janak 02-24-2009 02:35 AM

I got asscancer from the last social gathering I went to, so I can really relate to your situation. Perhaps we could join a support group together. One with hugging.

i agree its like stay that at home until you get better.i was supposed to meet my friend and her hubby for coffee. she is telling me how he had the flu and she has it now. i m like do me a favor and stay home and we will get together when you are better.

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 02-24-2009 07:29 AM

agreed...

Martin 02-24-2009 08:23 AM

I'm just grumpy when I get sick.. Nevermind me.

brassmonkey 02-24-2009 08:27 AM

or people that are sick and try to touch you

CDSmith 02-24-2009 09:03 AM

Agreed in full Martin. People that willfully go out and spread that shit need a good slap. People with a bad cold or flu that still go out clubbing... unreal. Loud music-->causes people to close-talk and yell at each other close up = spreading the sickness x10x10.

Try working in a hospital and seeing medical staffers, nurses etc, still coming to work with their snotty noses and sneezing and coughing all over. Talk about putting people at risk, and you'd think they would know better. It's not like they don't get sick time.

One more reason I'm happy I work from home.

TurboAngel 02-24-2009 09:06 AM

I'm sick right now, been on the antibiotics for a week and still don't feel well. I haven't left the house for week.

:(

UFGators2007 02-24-2009 11:20 AM

Technically you can thank people like that. That type of contact can help build your immune system...unless you have a messed up immune system already...then you are fucked!

TyroneGoldberg 02-24-2009 12:34 PM

germs are good for the body.
