Film - Religulous
Checked this out over the weekend and it is entertaining. Nothing new in it and I was hoping for me from Bill Maher as I am a big fan of his HBO show. Worth watching...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0815241/ -- Bill Maher interviews some of religion's oddest adherents. Muslims, Jews and Christians of many kinds pass before his jaundiced eye. Maher goes to a Creationist Museum in Kentucky, which shows that dinosaurs and people lived at the same time 5000 years ago. He talks to truckers at a Truckers' Chapel. (Sign outside: "Jesus love you.") He goes to a theme park called Holy Land in Florida. He speaks to a rabbi in league with Holocaust deniers. He talks to a Muslim musician who preaches hatred of Jews. Maher finds the unlikeliest of believers and, in a certain Vatican priest, he even finds an unlikely skeptic. -- My Rating 6/10 |

loved it..

its a good movie

Saw this awhile ago and yeah it was cool. What always amazes me about religion and the people who devoutly follow it is how otherwise intelligent people who are analytical about every other aspect of their lives will ignore all reason in this one aspect. I guess the fear of dying makes people stupid.

thought it was pretty good. he's always funny.
|
It was a good movie except for Bill Mahr being a self righteous douchebag for a lot of it.
And he obviously only interviewed dumb fucks the whole time to make himself look better. |
only worth watching if you like people making fun of themselves..
how anyone makes a movie about peoples crazy beliefs, all the while walking around telling people about YOUR crazy beliefs, is beyond me |
great stuff.. thanks
|
I want to check it out
|
Good movie; but, Bill still misses the point.
If you have a close and personal relationship with your "God", you don't advertise it as it is very personal. If you feel you have to brag about it, you really don't have it. IMHO |
He cracks me up.

I'd check this out.
|
Bill Maher is an idiot.
|
i want to rent it looks like a good watch.
|
It's a good one :) Funny shit in it... altho I like more "The Root of All Evil" with Richard Dawkins.
|
very funny movie

I've also seen it ... I didn't like the way they edited the interviews.
It was often very clear that the reaction or the answer was edited to another question. That's pretty cheap, low and easy. If you're going to watch it, pay attention to it. Those kind of interviews need to be done with both the person who's asking the question and the person who's going to answer it in the same frame, and a clock in the background LOL Sure, there were idiots ... but the majority was just playing because they make good money with doing so :) |

he doesn't pose the question "is there a god?" just tries to prove that religion is a negative in general |
