sheeeeiit... I couldn't get a job if I told an employer I just got outta the joint when I was growin up.. a bit different here professionally, he brings a stigma to the gig.

I wonder if the fans will welcome him... question is, will he help sell tickets?

Yeah but you couldn't run a 4.2 forty and throw a football 60 yds in the air. :winkwink:

With enough practice and passion, i'm sure anyone could... it's a skill, not a gift. :2 cents:

sandman! 02-21-2009 12:02 PM

whats so surprising about it ?

Im not a fan of dog fighting but its not exactly the worst thing in the world you could do.

Football is about winning.

starpimps 02-21-2009 12:07 PM

vick is not going to be able to run after big negro cocks have been so deep in his asshole

kane 02-21-2009 12:31 PM

I said way back when he was going to jail that he would play in the NFL again. Teams are desperate to win. If you can play they will be willing to overlook your past. Look at Pac Man Jones. This dude has been arrested like 6 times and suspended a full year yet he still gets more chances.

I said before that Vick would be on a team within 12 months of his release and it looks like I might have been correct.

LOL i find it a bit surprising that he is still under contract. Did they get ANY flack for that ?

mozadek 02-21-2009 03:57 PM

Whats the surprise? He's still talented, still has fans, he can help a team win, sell jerseys and help sell tickets.

Why would they get flack for honoring a contract? It's cheaper to keep him and trade him than release him and take the cap hit and get nothing in return.

The way I understand it is that he is under contract because otherwise the team would have taken a big hit the salary cap. If they just cut him and canceled the contract his salary would count towards the salary cap and eat up money they could spend on other players. By leaving him under contract but putting him on the unable to play list (or something like that) I believe they end up not having to pay him, but his salary doesn't count against the cap.

You act like dog fighting is a big deal, they are fucking dogs... He shouldn't even have gone to jail for it. Too many idiots treat dogs like they are kids, when they are pets. Same liberals who make me wear a seatbelt or I get a fine.

Adam X 02-21-2009 09:46 PM

laws are laws.. even if they're lame.. dogs dont have a say in it though.. its not like the UFC where guys are paid to beat the life out of each other, they have a choice.. hence the reason dogfighting is illegal.. one dog lives, the other dies... but animal cruelty??
He certainly shouldn't have been put in jail but thats just my opinion.. did the court do it to teach him a lesson? sure...

tony286 02-21-2009 09:50 PM

he served his time.

Since the 80s the focus of jails/prisons is punishment. Rehabilitation or prisoners learning their lessons is an afterthought.

This is how fucking retarded America is. They are so quick to throw people in jail yet dumb asses are always crying about the budget. Manson and murderers, rapists and shit like that; hell yeah let them rot under the jail. However, there are so many people in this country in jail over what amounts to very petty shit....and news flash dumb fucks - IT COSTS LOTS OF MONEY TO LOCK PEOPLE UP. Instead of these people feeding and taking care of themselves you have now just thrown that burden on the taxpayers and budgets. In the case of Vick, you had a multi-millionaire contributing a hell of a lot to the tax base through federal, state, sales (he brought a lot of expensive shit) and property tax (remember that mansion?) and reduced that to a bankrupt individual contributing little and being taken care of (i.e. food, healthcare, housing); all in the name of some fucking dogs? Fine the hell out of him, make him contribute to some dog shelters and move the fuck on. End of story. Don't diminish his earning power out of the revenue cycle where we so desperately need it. Did the Falcons honor his contract? Yes because they didn't want the salary cap hit, but he (and thus ultimately the rest of US taxpayers) still lost a hell of a lot of money due to endorsements (Nike, AirTran and others went bye bye immediately) vanishing. Was fighting the dogs stupid? Hell yeah. But would you rather have his monetary contribution in society for healthcare, roads and schools? Put me on the team that sides with that. Not to mention he probably was taking care of a few people that otherwise would have been on welfare, and now guess what? Since he's not there they will apply for welfare again...further straining the system. Dumb motherfuckers. :2 cents:
