I have never used Automator, any use it and what for in particular?
|
i knew one programmer in cali that used that and adobe action scripts to build a system for basically click and drag cropping of thumbs for his TGP.
basically would goto JMB, pull down the gal list, grab the large images from each gal and put them into folders that corresponded to gal number. it would load all those in small zoom, then he'd click the one he liked, and it would maximize. he'd drag crop and click. it would apply his general filters for thumbs, crop, save for web as the ###name and upload back to JMB. once done with the click to crop / filter / save, it would load up the next batch. was pretty cool. |
They're like Macros you record for tasks you do over and over again.
Here's the link to download Automator actions from Apple. http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/ |
From Wikipedia:
Automator is an application developed by Apple for Mac OS X that implements point-and-click (or drag-and-drop) creation of workflows for automating repetitive tasks. Automator enables the repetition of tasks across a wide variety of programs, including the Finder, the Safari web browser, iCal, Address Book and others. It can also work with third-party applications such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop. Automator was first released with Mac OS X Tiger (10.4). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automator_(software) |
