Maybe you think that when someone spoofs the 'to' field, you're getting someone else's mail?

WiredGuy 02-17-2009 01:00 PM

I get it all the time. Seems another person by the exact same first/last name thinks he owns my account. That guy is an idiot as I keep getting his emails.

Maybe, but the mail I get seems like its personal. Not some bs spam mail.

TuffCall 02-17-2009 07:31 PM

I read this thread this morning and never have received any other mail.

Tonight, I received one. Strange coincidence!! It was not spam but a small paragraph personal type letter.

I dunno ???

What?s up, seriously what are you going to do about him following everywhere. Because you talking to him is not working, maybe we should just not talk to him and he will get mad and leave. But on the other hand I got you a birthday present but I will not tell you. Later.

Those spams are intended for the receiver to reply and get further instructions.

HomerSimpson 02-17-2009 07:49 PM

never happened to me...

donkevlar 02-17-2009 08:26 PM

I get those all the time. Just this morning "Ted" said he loved me and sent me an e-card!

But it always could be typos... do you have a FirstnameLastname@ type common email addy?

scouser 02-17-2009 08:33 PM

Same here, I actually got one for a mortgage application. I took the time to reply telling him I didn't apply for the mortgage and the bank replied to me saying its been cancelled. I think I just screwed a guy out of buying his house, lol. And it was a real legit email, included property assessment, MLS listing, everything.
