I know Twitter is even thinking about a fee for commercial users. A recent article, I forget where said that patience is starting to run out over at Facebook as well.

When the business environment is this bad, there is much less enthusiasm to give everything away for free and lose money at the same time.

BTW, Youtube also sells a sort of internal Adwords that you can buy so a link to your video shows up when certain keywords are searched.

P.S. I'll guess they will have to encrypt all the streams because I can download all the videos as it is right now.

adult biz gave up any tries to do something with "everything is for free", so nice that mainstream is in it :)

MRock 02-15-2009 11:53 PM

this could be VERY good :winkwink: Whether a girl is taking a bukkake shot to the face or some numb-nuts is doing backflips on a bike over the Grand Canyon in a video, it is all entertainment content and should have some value accorded to it. Youtube convincing the general public to give it's content to them for free has been the biggest hoodwink in history in my book. Good to see it might possibly turn around.

"YouTube recently inked a deal with William Morris, a major Hollywood talent agency whose client roster includes Russell Crowe and Condoleezza Rice."

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

What talent does Condie have that's in-demand by Hollywood?

papill0n 02-16-2009 12:19 AM

Yeah I think this can only be a good thing for adding value to content.

SmokeyTheBear 02-16-2009 01:13 AM

Youtube is losing lots of money but most tubes are profitable. Youtube is not comparable to any other tube because google pump so much money into that site making a profit is unrealistic right now. Other tubes sites dont have to offer everything youtube do. Besides how many ads can you even see on youtube? and how do you know what their buisness plan is.

seeandsee 02-16-2009 05:22 AM
