Contest Threads
 

This morning there were 8 contest threads on the top of the page, and a few more in the middle/buttom. WTF? :BangBang

No real webmasters post in these huge threads. Only bostbots and postwhores.

the number of them seems to be getting out of hand and taking up the front page too much

you see them on first page and on one place cause some contest whore just bumped all the threads ... its not that bad all the time ... :2 cents:

I rather enjoy not seeing any contest threads at all.
It's like an entirely different board.

Well I'm a real webmaster, and I post in contest threads. I won about $300 in contest threads in 2008.

You should open a thread for people who change nick after getting banned twice or more...

Why? Are you planning to get banned or something?

I don't even notice them anymore... just push my eye past em.

I know what you mean, people get desensitized to those after a while. Maybe the flow could be managed to a reasonable level if the rules were changed to allow only affiliates that have sent sales to participate. Just a suggestion.

Well at least the controversial threads get more Page views and better feedback:)

they should change the gfy rules for contest threads, winners can only be webmasters with accounts with them, and their accounts get credited, and when the min payout is reached, they will get payment.

it will work well for both people, traffic and the people posting to work harder.

no real webmaster is going to bother bumping the stupid thread 1000 times


people who post in the contests use bots and have 4-5 nicks each.

its the same guy
ur only allowed to win once in this contest, yet every 10 guys won in the first few pages, and continued to waste 10 hours more of their day posting so their other accounts could win

what a coincidence to post for 10 hours straight after u won and yet you happen to never hit the right post

The mods need to step up and lay the smackdown.

Besides annoyin the hell out of real webmasters with these threads, the bots are using up a ton of boards resources.

they should change how the contests are, not bumping it to 1000 or even 4000, have some soert of unique contest, without all the mass bumping, people need to think outside of the box.

these contests are getting out of hand.

guessing games, photoshop contests, something other than a bump to 1000-5000, its getting nuts, when the people that post in these threads, you havent even heard of if you are a regular poster, then you view their history, and most of them have never posted outside of a contest thread.

btw we can hate them, we can love them, but who is running the bots is a clever bot
