When is the last time you went to the library?
Before the internet I used to be hooked on going to libraries in my early teen years to satisfy my urge for information overload. Then I found the joy of a dial up modem and BBS systems and then my visits to the library became less and less frequent. Then it came down to nearly only going when I needed to go to a university library to research for a paper.
Recently, I started going back and actually taking out books and found out that or local library is actually really busy most days. It is actually a pretty nice chill out zone for the time I am in there getting a book. When is the last time you went to the library and took out a book? |
Sometimes I just feel like I need to get away from the computer, so I go for a walk or to the library. They have a decent selection of magazines. I also check out a few books or DVDs occasionally. Lots of old people go there.

I am buying books to read, 1-2 books a week.

When are you going to stop starting stupid threads?

Every week we go.. get dvd's and books for the children...
plus make sure we have lots of hand sanitizer. |
couple of years ago when I was in the middle of moving and my internet was not turned on in my new place. So I went to the library to use the internet.
|
Once a week, I reckon. I pre-order the books online and then go pick them up when I get confirmation that they're in.
|
I used to go all the time until I moved and it wasn't close by anymore. I love to read and I also read really fast so I go through 3 or 4 books a week. I need to start going again regardless of it being out of the way, books are an expensive habit for me.

yesterday :)

I cant remember when it was the last time I went to a library, but I never stopped reading some good books...
|
It must have been over 20 years

Last week. I have a little one now and I can't see spending $20 on a 10 page children's book.
Got myself a new Library Card. |

I should start going again all the money I spend on books I would save a bunch.

We have a beautiful library in my community, it's all artsy and cool. I should go there more often, haven't been there in a few years.
|
Haven't been in years. Probably won't be in one for years to come either.
No need for it really, i find out everything i need to right here, plus i was never one for reading books anyway... |
maybe over 15 years

A very long time ago(like 4-5 years), on the other hand I buy 1 new book 2-3 times a month or borrow from friends. I Usually read ~2-3 books a month, It's good for ya

Wow. 1990 something and then I discovered Borders book stores with coffee shops inside. I am not even sure where our closest library is these days. I may have to check into that.
|
I go quite often as it's a nice walk from home and always love having a few books to read. also get dvds or just hang a bit and unwind.
|
I buy most of my books or borrow them from friends. I go through about one or two a month usually sometimes more but recently I have been off the reading train a bit.

Im at the point where if I go into the bookstore I end up spending $100 easy and still walk out wanting to buy more. Wouldn't be that big of a deal if I didn't read all of what I bought in 5 6 days.
I really need to start going back to my local library again. I am also trying to find a local paperback trader to turn in some of my other books. |
