CompuPic Pro has that batch feature. http://www.photodex.com

Go under Tools > Batch Conversions > Advanced Batch Conversions > Then click Text Overlay

That's the ticket!

Make a droplet in ImageReady with whatever actions you need (overlays with transparency, crop, resize, whatever, and end with a save as JPG at the compression you want), save it to your desktop where it's handy and then just drag and drop a folder of images onto it.
