3 cups (24 ounces) of OJ? Isn't that overdoing it a little? I would think one banana would be enough for one sitting too. You want the nutrients to be in your system all day long. That is why they say it is best to take your multivitamin 2x a day. Even if you take something like One-A-Day it is best to split it in half.

That doesn't necessarily mean that he didn't cook them first. He said "2 egg whites." He may have cooked them, then took out the yolks. If he didn't cook them, that is soooo 1976 (Rocky). Most people nowadays understand the dangers of salmonella poisoning. Also, it is now healthy to eat the yolk nowadays anyway. The yolk is rich in vitamins that the egg white doesn't even have, like the fatty acid DHA. They now know that higher cholesterol levels are more related to a diet high in saturated and trans fats than to dietary cholesterol. That doesn't mean it is now safe to eat foods high in cholesterol all day either. Two whole eggs a day is fine, though. Just as long as you're eating a healthy and balanced diet the rest of the day.

1 you can buy pasteurized raw eggs.
2. the chances of catching anything from a raw egg is so damn slim it is funny.

Raw eggs appear in lots of recipes all of the time and remain raw.

Doesn't sound that appealing for some reason, is OJ + ton of protein actually decent tasting? I would think milk would have worked better than OJ?

And cigarettes are available to buy in lots of stores. Those recipes you speak of are mostly bodybuilding recipes. I would never take any nutritional advice from a bodybuilder.

It is true, that you'd have to be very unlucky to get salmonella poisoning. But why take the risk when you don't have to? No scientific evidence has ever proven that cooking eggs reduces the protein content either. This is a myth that dates back to the early 19th century. The myth still continues to this day.

Not talking about reducing the protein content, that would just be fucking silly. I do not get shit from bodybuilding either, not sure why you would even make that leap - aside from perhaps due to this being based on smoothies. So no those recipes I speak of are not mostly body building recipes. I do not think I know any body building recipes.

Talking some very simple and fairly classical recipes such as caesar dressing, mayonnaise, carbonara sauce (not cooked to high enough temp), chocolate silk pie, most unbaked pies, cookie dough, mousse, and such.

No need to get so defensive. I was referring to why bodybuilders eat raw eggs in the first place. Most of them probably don't even know the reason I bet. I was referring to the myth. The myth says that cooked eggs reduces the protein content. That is how the raw eggs phenomenon started. Although, I'm sure most bodybuilders do it because it's just info that is passed on to them from fellow bodybuilders. "Do this, and this will happen."

Also, those recipes you speak of... they would be very irresponsible not to mention to pasteurize the egg first. All commercial products such as commercialized mayonnaise is made from pasteurized egg. Those recipes you're speaking of most likely instruct you to pasteurize the egg first.

Oracle Porn 02-08-2009 04:32 PM

your lunch looks ridiculously good maybe you can share your recipe?

No they do not, nor have they really. Was not until very and I do mean very recently have many restaurants have even started warning people or switching to pasteurized eggs for many of these dishes. Of course commercialized mayonnaise is made from pasteurized eggs, all commercialized products are made from pasteurized products. You would actually be more hard pressed to find such cookbooks that tell you to pasteurize than those that do not as most are not paranoid. Some have started adding a small warning blurb, but again most have not.
This is just more of the food police scaring the living fuck out of people. Same could be said of such suggestions as cooking assorted meats to certain temps which again nobody but the most paranoid or misinformed people would do, and again you would not see restaurants nor recipes warning you that often that meat should be cooked to an internal temperature of X. About only time you will see it anywhere is in regard to hamburger nowadays. OK wait I do recall reading at some point a menu at Denny's or someplace that did say eggs cooked anyway other that scrambled or over hard carry some risk. (over easy has same risk of salmonella as raw)

TheDoc 02-08-2009 05:05 PM

All this salmonella egg stuff, is as stupid as people thinking touching meat or chicken will hurt you, cleaning must happen with a cleaner to kill germs, or not using two cutting board for veggies and meat/chicken/fish to stop the spread of crap, oh and keep half the crap cold too... come on people..

Sheep following sheep... ask your grandparents or maybe your great grandparents how this went down with them.

Sounds healthy with an egg whites.

tical 02-08-2009 06:29 PM

not the best PWO shake

the protein is all wrong & the fat added from the pb is just going to help slow digestion down as well as add calories from fat you don't necessarily want PWO

dextrose (or another high glycemic carb like waxy maize) & pure whey protein next time - no fats! :)

J. Falcon 02-08-2009 06:29 PM

I could go for one of those right now

brassmonkey 02-08-2009 06:39 PM
