Bojangles 02-07-2009 03:10 AM

I usually watch movies I own. Sometimes I hit up on-demand.

jact 02-07-2009 03:11 AM

No Netflix in Canada.. yet...

I have satellite so I don't get on demand...

So I either rent it, or wait for it to come to the movie networks a few months later.

kmanrox 02-07-2009 03:30 AM

i usually just watch HBO,Cin, axn, or whatever..

rayadp05 02-07-2009 04:05 AM

I usually either rent or buy DVD's or Blu-Ray discs and watch them on the TV in the living room or I may watch them on my other TV in the bedroom. I also go through Netflix as well as having a membership to several diferent video stores. Every now and then I will do a movie on demand but usually not....since I normally have so many others that are laying around that have not been watched yet. I'm a real big movie watcher.

Scott McD 02-07-2009 04:14 AM

I buy a shitload of dvd's and blu-rays. Still got loads i haven't even opened yet.

Other than that, i order a movie on pay-per-view through my cable company...

StuartD 02-07-2009 04:20 AM

Rent... and I live in a small town, so I pay $11 for a 2 night rental. It hurts.

I got an old xbox, asked some pros to soft-hack it, plus I put a 100GB HDD in it, and upload anything in divx format or watch DVD directly from it. We love it, however I think soon I'll buy a ps3 or xbox360 to play some games again and have a less noisy and old machine for my home.

alias 02-07-2009 05:11 AM

Matyko, fwiw my ps3 sounds like a jet turbine.. . I've even thought of putting it outside the room.

Libertine 02-07-2009 05:15 AM

I rent them, most often. The movie store is only a 2 minute walk away, so it's quicker than downloading.

CaptainHowdy 02-07-2009 05:56 AM

I rent on half priced days...

Have a theater room set up .. full surround sound and a projector .. its incredible. Room is fully soundproofed so we can crank it right up, and its similar to going to the cinema. If you guys haven't got a home theater room set up you should, its never been cheaper to get a good setup either.

nation-x 02-07-2009 06:48 AM

I have a 60" DLP and just recently we signed up for Netflix because I can stream a ton of movies and tv series using my XBOX 360. Xbox also has HD movies you can rent for about 50 cents cheaper than Time Warner. We also get DVDs from Netflix and I have an upscale DVD player... next I will get a blueray or PS3... I haven't decided yet.

I have a great surround sound system I bought years ago (around 98) that I still use... it's Kenwood with 6 speakers. I paid $284 for it... probably one of the best home entertainment purchases I ever made.

John-ACWM 02-07-2009 02:48 PM

I like my collection :winkwink:

candyflip 02-07-2009 02:57 PM

We have all sorts of TV/Video gadgets.

The Slingbox and the 360 with Netflix are two pretty cool devices.

I also use TVersity to stream/transcode files on my computers to the PS3/360.

I download a lot from iTunes and run those thru AppleTV. Lots of movies and free podcasts there.

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 02-07-2009 02:58 PM

Netflix straight to my 360.

Depends on if just me, or da ladies are over. :winkwink: Normally DVD. But sometimes will watch internet movie. Sometimes cable. Really varies from month to month. Typically it is one of the following.

1. Small DVD player I have on my desk (normally for traveling). That way I do not tie up a cpu.

2. Watch on one of the three machines in my office.

3. Watch on regular TV in one of the LR, or BR.

:2 cents:

Basic cable... I don't watch tv. It's just for my kids to watch cartoons.

Sarah_Jayne 02-09-2009 07:15 AM

I use the dvd delivery from Blockbuster which provide a Netflix like service for the UK. Then we also have the cable movie channels but I don't actually use those much. My husband is addicted to buying bluray at the moment too.

It can certainly be. We're closing in on 100 Bluray titles in our collection. I have a few HDDVD players too and we have been hording those as well.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 02-09-2009 07:33 AM

doe straight off of rapidshare go under "internet"?

fatfoo 02-09-2009 07:57 AM

I vote buy DVDs from store. The simpler way.

Ross 02-09-2009 08:11 AM

I buy DVD's, order on demand, watch normal cable movies. Everything. Just depends if theres some on or not.

Yesterday I was hungover so I watched 3 movies through the day. Bourne Ultimatum, 21, and American Gangster. All of them were on the movie channels with my cable company. Not a bad day :)
