Adding images and ads to a wordpress blog

Hey, I see a lot of wordpress blogs that have like fling ads, and other things worked into their design. I'm using a good theme with tons of options for customizing it, but I can't figure out how to add things to the design outside of a post.

For example I want to put a clickable graphic on the main page, below all the posts, but I can't figure out how to do it.. Do I have to do that manually or something?

Similarly the ads on the sidebar below their widgets.. I thought it would be a standard kinda widget, but I'm not getting it...

yes man, you can add it manually or search for some wordpress modification that can do it. you will just once edit your template then you will be able to change all the banners and ads from admin area ...

Are you fucking serious?

Anyway..

footer.php = bottom of blog - add shit in here you want at bottom
sidebar.php = sidebar, but WTF you know what a widget is, right? Put your shit in those.
header.php = top of blog.. put your shit here for what you want in top of blog

For shit in between posts, put it in post.php

<?php
$ad[] = "ad";
$ad[] = "ad";
$ad[] = "ad";
$ad[] = "ad";
$ad[] = "ad";
$ad[] = "ad";
shuffle($ad);
shuffle($ad);
echo $ad[0];
?>

this allows your ads to be rotated.

What?!?! It's all coded like any other website edit the php files. You could get a plugin for the banner ads tho.

Is this really Socks or did someone steal his nick? Weeeirdd..

hehehe.. I was just wondering if there was a way to do this stuff inside the wordpress CMS rather than hacking it up.. I tried putting it right before the end of the body, but it was after all the divs I think, and so didn't show up in the browser. This was in the CMS through the theme's options.

Makes no sense to me.. Why isn't there just a "image" widget, and an image code like BBCode, kinda retarded no?

Thanks for the ad rotator, that might come in handy..

Just putting it in there is/was easy.. but I always assumed that rotator stuff was over my head.. and did it manually.
Now I see it's not... and I'm so excited I think I peed a little ;)
