pretty fucked up

Was just watching COPS and they was stinging people BUYING pot and then siezing thier cars :321GFY

I don't smoke anymore but I still feel it is not as bad as booze.

And watching that really sickened me :throwup

It does not make any sense at all

amadman 11-17-2002 06:08 AM

I can't belive that nobody else sees how fucked up this is.

The people buying pot are not drug dealers. Their cars where not bought with drug money!!!

Sure I can somewhat understand taking the drug deallers car or vehicals used to trasnport drugs.

But lossing your car for buying a dime bag of pot from a cop?

Come the fuck on :feels-hot

Undutchable 11-17-2002 06:14 AM

I agree, that's total bullshit

Gemini 11-17-2002 06:22 AM

There wouldn't BE drug dealers if people didn't buy it. So no need for cops to even deal with it at all eh? :winkwink:

If pot wasn't illegal then cops wouldnt have to bother with it either :winkwink:

Besides my point isn't that the people are getting busted. Only that the forfeiture seems excessive for the crime. And that they are setting the people up to take their car.

Its not really the cops to blame (though I agree the job could attract the type) its the laws themself.

If there was anyone to blame then it would be us for letting such laws exist :(

Gemini 11-17-2002 07:50 AM

Amadman, my point was they are trying to cut down the users via heavy fines and confiscations which results in fewer dealers. Insofar as legalizing pot? Doubtful at best. Maybe in 20 yrs when the younger generation is the ruling power.

But odds are, you will have grown out of that by then and stand where many of us do now. (I was young and dumb once too lol) I grew out of it just like all the kids I ran with. Now we see from THIS side and its not a good sight.

If you haven't grown out of it, there will probably still be a minority that are for it being A-ok to sell legally. Once that nasty cough catches up to you, people tend to stop or it could go even worse.

I thought it should have been legal once upon a time. I'm from the original generations that fought for it with the slogans, old enough to fight in war but not to smoke what we want. lol All of that BS. I still stand against that particular war or at least the way it was waged.

Get back to us in 10 years if you haven't choked to death or been caught up at your dealers in a discussion with their 9's over turf etc. :Graucho Better yet, read the REAL studies on what pot smoke does to your body. Not the potheads interpretations.

I agree the confiscations are hardcore, but should taxpayers foot the bill for locking y'all up, rehab, court costs and the other millions that drugs cost the public? Do the crime and pay the time as they say. Ride the bus. Odds are you'd lose your drivers license for having possession anyhow. No need for the car eh? :1orglaugh

Gemini - As I said above I do not even smoke pot anymore myself.

I know that it is bad for you but so is smoking cigs and drinking.

The drugs exist so there will allways be users. As far as dealers go then you are only increasing the risk which makes for higher profits.

Sad but probably true.

Problem is that laws that people do not believe in weaken the whole legal system. When a good percent of the population is breaking the law then something is wrong.

Again I allready said I quit myself.

Oh but you now think it is ok for them to take cars and houses from people that only smoke pot?

Again I do not smoke pot!

All of those things are charged to the offender.

That is another point. You do not even have to have done the crime:

Bennis v. Michigan

The problem is that it is not just cars.

A guy from Michigan named Guy Jerome Ursery lost his house for the possesion of pot.

Well, it's nice to see some things never change.

Pot is bad for you so it should be illegal, right? So, when are we gonna lock up people for eating at the McDonalds, or not exercising enough?

C_U_Next_Tuesday 11-17-2002 10:23 AM

funny they legalize liquor that can kill you quicker than mary-j and ciggs combined. All the drunk driving accidents, cirrosis of the liver at seriously young ages, children being born retarded because momma couldnt put down the bottle....

please show me some serious studies that werent done in england of how pot smoke affects the body. I to date have found no articles that showed any proof that was substancial .

alcohol is legal cause its run by the government and they profit heavily off the taxes. The lawmakers dont give a fuck about our health..its all about the money..it always has been and always will be. They dont have a plan yet on how to control the mary-j to their financial advantage.

does anyone remember about 11years ago when they tried to tax the mary -j growers..hahahahahaha. They told people if they sold pot that they had to buy a "seal" or in other words they were trying to tax something that was illegal..who the hell fell for that one:1orglaugh

Sambuka 11-17-2002 11:09 AM

Yeah US cops sound really fucked up, in Aussie you get caught buying pot in my state and they give you a $100 fine and NO crime record.

The way it SHOULD be.

Sammy
