During PMQs he said 'depression' instead of 'rescission' ...let the press chaos begin.

Lots of people have made that freudian slip.

we're a long way from a depression yet, and he was talking globally when he made the slip.

seriously, it took forever for anyone to admit to recession...now no one can say depression. fucking politicians...

it took a year for any politician or the media to utter the world recession - some kind of weird denial/coping mechanisms in effect right now.

Because they don't want to be accused of being the one that talked us into a recession or depression. So, they wait until there is for sure no going back before they say it in public.

i think it's more than that. i have friends in the states who couldn't utter the word themselves for the longest time. it's just fear.
