What is "Income"?
 

There seems to be some conflicting definitions of the word "Income".

And some other definitions that just don't seem to have a solid definition that clearly define what the word actually means.

What is your take on this?

It's simple. Money that is paid to you for work performed.

Technically speaking, if I charge $10.00 per hour for labor and work for 10 hours. I would be paid $100.00. I lose 10 hours, and am compensated at the rate of $10.00 per hour in exchange for my labor. This is a zero-gain exchange. How would this $100.00 be defined as "income" or "gain"?

"Income" is money that "comes in." Whether that money is given to you or earned, if it's coming in to you, it's "income."

there is a difference between Gross Income and Net Income


gross income is total income

net income is total income - expenses

Net Income - Expenses - Taxes = Income.

And I am the village idiot around here.

Of course gross income...net income etc is different,this is just for the meaning of income as defined by most tax/bank/audit rules to my knowledge.

The hot daughter of a priestess clinging to his side. What happened next was like a dream, no a nightmare. Everyone turning up dead, chicken blood, rituals, guns in vaginas, and cannibalism.

I've been in hell ever since.
