What is "Income"?
There seems to be some conflicting definitions of the word "Income".
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...ition&ct=title the financial gain (earned or unearned) accruing over a given period of time wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn -------------------------------------------------- (Earned or Unearned)???? Excess of revenues over expenses. http://www.vba.va.gov/ro/central/stp...finitions.html -------------------------------------------------- Excess revenues? Inflow of revenue during a period of time. (See net income.) www.startheregoplaces.com/glossary/ -------------------------------------------------- Inflow of "revenue"? (#1 Definition of "Revenue" defined on Dictionary.com as: the income of a government from taxation, excise duties, customs, or other sources, appropriated to the payment of the public expenses.) ~ Income of a government??? a gain in money usually as a result of business or labor http://www.cce.cornell.edu/washingto.../Glossary.html -------------------------------------------------- A "Gain" in money. And some other definitions that just don't seem to have a solid definition that clearly define what the word actually means. What is your take on this? |
It's simple. Money that is paid to you for work performed.
|
Technically speaking, if I charge $10.00 per hour for labor and work for 10 hours. I would be paid $100.00. I lose 10 hours, and am compensated at the rate of $10.00 per hour in exchange for my labor. This is a zero-gain exchange. How would this $100.00 be defined as "income" or "gain"?

Voodoo destroyed my life.
I was a private investigator in New York City after the war, where I met Louis Cyphre. He hired me to locate a singer named Johnny Favorite who was injured in World War II and owed Louis. I started checking it out, see Louis thought the hospital had faked Johnny's medical records. I spoke with the doctor and the next thing I know, he was murdered. I started to feel a little uneasy about this case, as it unraveled and become more bizarre. Money's money though right? I stood to make plenty. Following a lead, I headed to New Orleans to dig a little deeper. I met Voodoo. He wore a black top hat, face white as snow and his eyes wide and black as pitch. The hot daughter of a priestess clinging to his side. What happened next was like a dream, no a nightmare. Everyone turning up dead, chicken blood, rituals, guns in vaginas, and cannibalism. I've been in hell ever since. |
