Superbowl comm in 3-D...
 

So I did not see this posted yet, but they just aired the three superbowl spots in "True 3-D" this was NOT the red/blue, but a diff kind.

We had heard about it 10 mins b4 game time for the first time, ran to the store and grabbed a stack of sheets (4 pairs of glasses per sheet)

The spots were:

Monster VS Aliens (Dreamworks movie)
Sobe Drink (featuring football players, and monsters & Aliens)
TV Spot for the show Chuck (will be in same type of 3D 2morrow at 8pm est.)

The shit was just blurry for those of us without glasses.

Srsly though, with this style (red/yellowish) your able to WATCH with or WITHOUT the glasses, and there is only a slight annoyance factor without the glasses viewing the content.

since it's "true 3-D" and the people actually KNOW how to shoot it, there is actually a fair amount of "pop" to the stuff.

I've NEVER seen an episode of "Chuck" but I will deff check out the 3-D episode 2morrow night so I can see more then a 30 sec spot with this tech.

Funny thing it was NBC that did an entire night of red/blue 3-D shows YEARS ago (Remember the 3rd rock episode?) The rest of the shows that night escape me though lol

i gave up on 3d after friday the 13th part 3...someone call me when 4d gets here

I dunno, I used my DVR and rewound it to watch it again without the glasses, and the movie spot was damn near fine without the glasses, the Sobee spot had it's "OUCH" moments, but the chuck spot again was damn near fine.

I just know I was not aware of any 3D commercials nor any need for glasses, then poof on came some Pixar commercial and I thought I must of eaten a bad chicken wing or something.

LMAO, that was a horrible attempt at 3-D for sure, BUT this new stuff (NOT RED/BLUE) is much much better.... not trying to sound like Peace here, cause this is literally two diff types of 3-D, but the real tech has deff come a long way.

With the red/yellow you can wear the glasses for longer periods of time, and NOT have the headaches and eye irritations that come with the standard anaglyph (red/blue) glasses

and the overall quality is just far better then what was being made in the 80's

My cable feed is crappy to begin with, and then I'm viewing an SD channel on a large TV, so I just assumed it was poor quality broadcasting like everything else I watch in costa rica :1orglaugh

were those the only three they were gonna run or are there more to come...i will keep an eye out if so

(It was Dreamworks ;) ) Yeah same here, but then again I did not even know WHO was playing till I turned on the game :1orglaugh I really only watch for the multi-million dollar ad spots to be honest.

But we decided to have a "commercial party" and some friends and their kids came over, (cause we have the nice big 50" HD LCD tv) and the kids were talking about glasses and 3-D and whatnot, I googled it and sure as shit it was true lol.

I also don't watch network TV much anymore, so I don't know how well this was even promoted, BUT what I did find out is there are display stands EVERYWHERE (Target, Kmart, Walmart etc) to grab your sheet of glasses.

(we literally grabbed a STACK of sheets lol so we have about 70+ extra pairs :1orglaugh)

They MAY rerun the spots again during the rest of the game, BUT I do know for sure that 2morrow night at 8pm Est time on NBC the show "Chuck" will be in this style 3-D

Yes, noticed that....there are also so many 3D movies ( anime ) coming out to theaters soon....and i noticed the commercials also....looks like finally 3D is coming up stronger and faster than we thought....

I have about 20 3D Porn Scenes also....i remember when being in the paysite business, launched one of the true first 3D adult site.... www.3DOrgasm.com ;-)...

I saw 'em. Wasn't too impressed.

I had a list somewhere, (will try to find it 2morrow) and there is over 20 major studio movies in production and slated to be released over the next 2-3 years, it seems most of these movies will also be utilizing this new "True 3D Color Code" glasses, also on youtube "kids" are hacking video games to work with these glasses as well (some of it sucks but some is pretty interesting to say the least.)

as for 3DOrgasm, that was really a good site, and I did have high hopes for it, (I know you did as well lol) but just like when I launched all my 3D Toon sites (CGI) back in 99-2000 I realized it was a bit too soon, and it wasn't until the last two years that the niche finally took off.

You should look into converting your scenes to this 'new color format' if you have the raw footage still that is.
