What happened to the "RealID"?
 

I refuse to get one if they come out, but weren't we all supposed to get them this year sometime? I don't recall hearing about it recently.

Here's a bump.

The RFID chips are already in ALL new passports. They are also putting them into a LOT of credit cards and debit cards. Clothing stores are using them as well now and putting them into clothes for security purposes.

They are inching them in everywhere. If not now, give it time and they will come on all state issued or government issued IDs. If not this year, very soon.

Thailand did it about 2 or 3 years ago and had to stop because it was costing them too much money to make them. Though you can count on the USA just printing or borrowing more money to make sure they will be able to track each and every once of us. Just give it time.

I'll note, it's also a crime to destroy or remove the one inside of your passport. I had a nice chat with immigration about these chips during my search when I entered the USA a few months back.

Hmmm so you guys have never heard of cell phones? It's fairly easy to get a rough position fix on someone by doing triangulation between towers. :2 cents: It may not even need to be a "do it now" event - if they log phones responding to beacons as they switch towers then it may be possible to retroactively parse those logs to figure out a trail. :2 cents: :helpme
