DirectNic sucks ass. What are the best domain registrars?
What are the best domain registrars?
So far I got: namecheap.com moniker.com godaddy.com |
Blasphemer!!!
|
moniker.com Has done me extremely solid over the years and I've got over 500 names with them. Without issue. Their admin console is the best I have used.

I just don't wanna put have the eggs in one basket. know what i'm saying? |
Left directnic several years ago for enom, have never regretted the move.
|
Moniker is great, I switched everything from DirectNic to them a couple years ago when Slick had his issue with them.
|
If you own hundreds or thousands of domains, it makes it alot easier to manage them if you consolidate at one registrar. But choose carefully. Your domain is the heart of your site.
I chose Moniker, and I have been very happy with my decision. http://www.moniker.com They have excellent security. I don't believe a domain has ever been stolen there. :2 cents: |
namecheap

|
why throw money away by paying more for nothing?
Namecheap is the way to go for sure :thumbsup |
directnic is not bad at all, i love em
|
I have them split up (until I get my own finished), but the bulk are at Monikor.
They have been fine I suppose, all things considered from ease of use to interface. But their support has steady been dropping off for years. :2 cents: |

I agree , will not register my domains anywhere else . 2 year ago , I had my account jacked by some russian scammers and Directnic took care of everything for me on the phone and they were FAST . |
Moniker FTW!
|
MONIKER - Love them.
|
My vote is for Moniker.com as well. :)

I'd be curious to hear exactly what happened to those people who switched away from DirectNic. I've been a loyal DirectNic customer for over 10 years and have never had a complaint.
As a matter of fact, any domain I intend on keeping I transfer over to DirectNic and i'm happy paying extra. I sell a lot of domains. Anyone remember the flood in New Orleans and the blog DirectNic setup to reassure their customer base? I remember stories of a directNic employee sitting on top of a server rack with a shot gun. That may have been exaggerated, but the vibe was there. That's the kind of dedication I require from my registrar. :) |
I've never really used Moniker but, for the most part, I've heard they are excellent.
My personal favourite from experience is Namecheap - outstanding support and no problems with the interface etc. Reasonable prices too. |
Ive got over 3000 domains at moniker, they have been rock solid for me for many years
|
moniker is my only choice
|
i have domains at moniker, but i dont sleep at night well knowing the company that owns them is laying off a lot of staff.

Plus if you contact directnic and ask, they'll cut you a break on quanity... |
Am I allowed to toot my own horn and say Moniker? :winkwink:
Hit me up if you have any questions! |
a lot of people talk shit about godaddy, but if you ever want to sell your domain name that basically serves as a selling point. Lots of people looking for quick Godaddy to Godaddy transfers
|
i like directnic

All my important domains (DNS, paysites, ...) are handled by Direcnic. No problems with them so far.
|
Directnic/Moniker for good domains, internet.bs for new domains.
|
namecheap, moniker
