My truck broke down just west of Wichita, Kansas in front of an old motel. I thought I was lucky and it was only $17 for a night! But the carpet was almost greasy and there was a huge blood stain almost as big as a double bed on the floor -- the crime scene outline tape from the body must have been removed a few hours before I checked in.

When I was a travel agent it was so hard to find 'budget' priced hotels in New York that didn't have reputations for being cruddy but that would take the crud biscuit.

London is similar to New York for the hotel market. There is either really great but really pricey hotels or cheap shitholes but not much inbetween. I think that is going to be a problem with the Olympics over here.

obviously none of you have been to se asia. that sounds like a 5 star hotel compared to some of the stuff i've seen. no toliet paper (be sure to bring your own), shit stains everywhere, bugs (nasty fuckers) everywhere, eclectrical faults, rubber covered beds... one of the the main reasons we started living on the beach and in hammocks whenever we couldn't get a decent air con room. and i'm heading back for 10 weeks on march 5th lol.

Price listed is 122$ per night..

What I dont understand, is WHY WOULD YOU STAY AFTER SEEING THE ROOM?

I love the electrical work in there. Don't they have some sort of fire marshall that inspects these places?
