R vin #'s located anywhere besides dash, engine and door?
R vin #'s for Trucks located anywhere besides dash, engine and door? Its a long story but I'm trying
to identify a vehicle. I was told that there is another vin # somewhere under the vehicle. Does anyone here know where that is located?:helpme |

VINs are normally located in several locations on a car, but the most common places are:
- On the door frame/door post of the front doors (usually driver's but sometimes passenger's) - On the dash near the windshield - On the engine itself (machined pad on front of engine) - On the car's firewall - In the left-hand inner wheel arch - On the steering wheel/steering column - On the radiator support bracket |
if i'm remebering correctly, alot of companys place one under the hood on a sticker that also have the paint mix codes for the car color on it.
If i remember correctly. |

You can also find the V.I.N. on the title, the registration, and depending on the company, even your insurance card. Occasionally you can find it on the impound paperwork, depending on how professional the tow trucker driver is.:thumbsupxxx

Lots of cars have a plate on the drivers side of the firewall in the engine compartment. It's a bigger plate that also includes trim codes factory and stuff so it's usually overlooked when looking for a skinny VIN plate.

on my new 09 there is the VIN on the glass, and there are VIN stickers on every major part of the car. doors, trunk, panels, you name it.

Thanks for the info...
