How the hell do you guys do this? Webmasters and Food....
For the forseeable future I will be not be going to work as part of a self imposed layoff ment to make it so that my company can hold on to two good workers. (i own 50% of a construction company)
In the meantime, I have nothing to do but sit around and watch movies, smoke pot, work on sites and all the happy shit that genneraly goes along with being me. I dont mind but....... Its been a long time since I had this much free time and for some reason (munchies, im guessing) i'm eating almost anything in my house that wont run away from me. This is a huge change from the regular for me, and I'm starting to feel like shit. Anyhow, i'm going shopping in the morning and I was wondering, for those of you who work online all day every day, what kind of good stuff do you keep around for when the munchies strike? I'm looking for some healthy stuff, and some almost-junk food ideas..... today alone I ate 15 of those ready-serve sausages:helpme and a bunch of those breaded chicken patties and I wont be able to do that for much longer. Any ideas? |
Celery, baby carrots ,raw broccoli ,cauliflower,baby tomatoes and low fat dressing or none at all and plenty of water

LOL. You need to get some hobbies or find a way to lock yourself away from the forward. Maybe start going to the gym.

get some fruit in the house
bananas(just to eat), oranges, apples, mangos...etc... happy fruit time, plus add some beef jerky and you will be just fine |

I am a vegetarian so I eat lots of muesli bars, fruit (bananas, blueberries, strawberries, oranges, mandarins, peaches, apples, rockmelon) vegetables (carrots, celery, brocoli, cauliflower, salads etc), nuts, and drink lots of water. :)

radishes are my favorite snack. relatively filling, low in calories....
i combine them with other healthy foods... like ding dongs, beer, cigarettes, marijuana, and salt & vinegar chips... |

I love salad, so I buy the package of baby lettuce and whatever else they put in there. When I get the munchies, I fill a big bowl with it, put a little dressing on it and go to town.
I also like dried fruit. Apricots, mango slices, pineapple, etc. It's not exactly "good" for you because fruit has a lot of sugar, but it beats the heck out of ready to eat sausages. ;) Nuts are also good to snack on. Pistachios, peanuts, etc. Just put some in a bowl so you can limit your intake and you don't mow through the whole bag. |

I am picky and just do not buy many convenience foods.
I may have plenty of "fatty" cured meats, cheeses, pickles, and such on hand. Yet rarely will I go crazy and eat way to much - to fatty on tongue. I also make it a point to cook good meals each day and eat on time. I think people may end up eating more because of a lack of schedule. I take time out to make and eat lunch, of I will pre pack a lunch the night before. I also try to not spend every moment at the computer. My brain just does not function as well if I constantly push myself that way. It does better with occasional breaks. I do shove a lot of flavor into what I do eat, I do not hold back on fats and such. I do however make sure I eat well and not crazy portions. This way I do not feel I am missing out at all. Then of course I do make sure I keep some more healthy stuff sitting around for quick use. From always having fresh fruits on hand to frozen fruits and yogurt in the fridge for quick smoothies and such. I just wish I could put on extra weight myself. |
supermarket sushi...specifically the spicy shrimp rolls....my fav junk food :)
cape cod jalapeno and/or cheddar chips pretzels are the best finger food for a webmaster cuz u dont gotta wipe ur fingers between munching n typing. same goes for raw green beans. jus wash em off n munch of em. |

Fresh fruits or dried fruits, vegetables, cookies, juices and plenty of water.
