My assistant has Vista on the laptop and to my surprise, when I uploaded ICQ 2001b it worked.

For some reason I have that experience too, but only if i'm running an FTP and only if the FTP was open first.
If I open ICQ then Filezilla FTP, I have absolutly no problems. Other way around, no dice.

Are you running a multitude of programs at once, Angry Jew Cat?

I'm a multitasking machine. the error seems to be fairly consistent, if i mouseover the little popup when someone comes online, instant freeze...

....seems to me Vista has way more cons then pro's. Downgrading is looking more and more likely in my case all because of shit like you just mentioned... My girl and I picked up Vista and I uploaded it into both her and my pc's, It took her a grand total of about 5 hours to get sick of it and downgrade (or in this case, up-downgrade) back to XP. I never had any problems with anything running XP like I do with :mad:Vista.

Maybe i'll follow her lead.

Dunno, I don't use Vista.

:)

Try to start Windows in Safe Mode and re-installed ICQ 6.
