GFY CHEFS!!!! Spice Up My Rice!!!

In three years of coming to this forum, I have learned that as a whole you are all good for one thing to me, and one thing only. Providing me with scrumptious recipes to make my eating experience a better one. A few of you have genuinely improved my quality of life with your suggestions. So here it is, your chance to be a positive influence in my day to day diet. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SPICE UP MY RICE!!!!! Or my white rice I should say. I pretty much got my wild rice down.

So I made up a sweet chili and lemon beef tonight and decided to eat it on white rice. Which was ok, but the rice was a little bland, which got me to thinking maybe i could splash a little lemon in my rice next go around, maybe some fresh parsley and pepper. I DON'T KNOW! THERE'S JUST SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!

What are the GFY chefs' white rice suggestions? I have faith in you fuckers for this one! Don't let me down now!

Instead of making rice with water use coconut milk or coconut water, the difference in taste is incredible.

Then i usually put a bit of curry in it to kick it up a bit. Then again im on such a curry kick lately, that i put curry in almost everything

I'm into curry too at the moment. But some pepper and garlicbutter on top of the rice when served is not bad either.

take 12 strings of spaghetti and chop it up so that it's a pile of tiny spaghetti squares.. toss those into a frying pan with two tablespoons of vegetable oil and begin frying them for a couple minutes til they start turning a golden brown... then toss in a cup and half of white rice.. stir it all up so that the rice gets oiled up...

chop up a scallion and finely slice up half an onion and throw that in there too.. add 1 cup water and let rice cook.. once rice is soft and the water is gone, use your spatula to move the whole mix over to the side of the pan.. on the bare side of the pan, crack open two eggs and fry them..

Once the eggs are fried up, break it up until it's in little pieces and mix them up with the rice.. squirt in some soy sauce and stir it up mixing in some black pepper then serve.

Don't know why, but that's what I made one night last week :1orglaugh

To go with the rice, I cut into cubes a beef roast that I simmered in soy sauce til cooked.. then I took the cubes of beef and rolled them in pancake mix since I didn't have any flour in the house and put them in the pan and fried them.. served the beef over the rice with steamed asparagus on the side

Even just crumbling a stock cube into the water while you are boiling the rice improves it. I like a chicken stock cube for that but others work too.

go with the coconut tip or use stock/bullion cube, works wonders..

also if you ever like potatoes with your meat, boil some with a sprig of fresh thyme and a bay leaf, shit is killer.

Damn that sounds banging!! I love to mix plain white rice with butter, olive oil, garlic, pepper, and a little white wine. I cook peas up in the same mixture and then mix them together. I can eat a ton of that!

take leftover rice... put in saucepan, add milk and butter, stir until warm, add broccoli spears, stir until they are warm, then stir in your favorite cheese.

broccoli cheese and rice, serve with a chicken breast rubbed in oil, soy sauce and garlic, baked in a 400 degree oven

That stuff is the bomb! I have my family hooked on it.

instead of water cook the rice in chicken broth. Once the rice is cooked. In a separate pan sautee a little onion, and red pepper diced up fairly small. After the onion and pepper are soft add a clove of chopped garlic and scallion. Once all vegetables are cooked add rice and then drizzle a little soy sauce just till it changes the color of the rice. A little salt and pepper and some chopped cilantro mixed in at the end and you`re done. Its pretty healthy and tastes great to.
