Need to get money off a credit card...
What are some ways of getting cash from (or transfering to bank account) an American Express credit card? Besides a cash advanced....
Maybe like Epassporte? Can I transfer money from the cc to my account? I've heard some grocery stores allow you to purchase money orders with a credit card..but I haven't found any around me. Any ideas?? |
Paypal / Western Union
You can load PP with money and withdraw it to your bank or you can send a WU to yourself or a friend with a credit card and pick it up at the post office. |
Sounds fishy.... you trying to avoid paying higher and upfront interest on cash advances? Better hope the card company odesn't figure it out, or you'll lose your account or pay penalties.

Do you care about fees?
You can send a paypal payment to someone you trust using the card as the funding source. Then just have them send you the money back after a few days. Not a refund, just a normal money send. Then request a check from paypal. There are tons of ways to do this. |

if you load though with amex on paypal its done as a cash advance i believe

It depends on the card specifically. Some cards allow you to go into a bank and take cash out for no fee, some run it as a cash advance and require a fee.
Call the number on the back of the card and ask. 0.02 |
beware of WU as a lot of financial institutions will treat it as a cash advance anyways. So you get hit with th WU fee plus cash advance interest... :2 cents:

Thanks for the ideas! I'm going to try to figure something out from what you guys said about Paypal.
You have to pay by your confirmed bank account and you can have the Amex card as a back up funding source; but it will take the money out of your bank account. So I'm going to try to confirm my savings account, transfer all my savings to my checking, then send payment so it will take from the Amex lol. Psh, now that I typed it out it seems like a lot of work! |
Good luck to that.
