Maybe, since the US has heard and seen nothing BUT Obama for the last six months, he feels it's a priority to reach out, to try to ease tensions in the areas that want to see us dead? :2 cents:

Obama made it very clear he planned to do what needed to be done with Pakistan. The real War on Terror was always in Afghanistan and the Pakistan boarder areas. Bush and co did just enough there to make it look good on TV then ran off to play nation building in Iraq.

In other words, your boy dropped the fucking ball and we have all paid the price for it. Obama is putting things right back on track. Last time I checked bin Laden was no where near Iraq..

Consider that a warning for the Paki's to get their shit in order and do what they agreed to do.. After all our govt is giving them a shit load of money to support their "invisible" war on terror with in their country.

So far Pakistan has had it's hand out taking every dollar we gave them and the Bush admin made them account for nothing in which they agreed to do. That has cost American soldiers their lives as well as coalition soldiers from places like the UK and Canada their lives.

Obama is doing what needs to be done and fixing the shit Bush fucked up..

Al-Arabiya is owned by the Saudis

Al Arabiya is part of MBC Group, the largest news and entertainment broadcaster in the Middle East, reaching an estimated 130 million Arabic-speaking people around the world.

A 2003 BBC News profile of the network says it was one of the top-rated pan-Arab stations but "angered the US" for its coverage of the violence in Iraq after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein.

It seems like people forgot what Iraq did to Kuwait in 1991 - not to mention the wrost man made disaster when they set fire to 600 oil wells that didn't belong to them.

Funny how we bitch at Exxon for their oil spill in Alaska, yet we don't seem to give a crap about what happened in Kuwait.

dyna mo 01-26-2009 08:26 PM

there's many other man made disasters that experts agree were worse than the kuwaiti oil field fires

That war was in 1991.. Did he invade Kuwait a second time that I missed? If we wanted him out of power we should have finished the job then.. Not send our troops back over there 12 years later to make big profits for big business..

You're faulting the guy for extending an olive branch and trying to win "hearts and minds"?

Lester Burnham 01-26-2009 11:50 PM

It was refreshing to see a U.S. President that could actually string together complete sentences and sound like he has a brain.
