PHP/Rails developer available

Hi,

I'm available for full time development. My skill set is as follows:

1. PHP
2. MySQL
3. Ruby+Rails
4. Design principles (KISS, DRY) and patterns (MVC, Singleton, Factory, etc)
5. Ajax goodies
6. Scalable design with Caching (Keep your site up under heavy traffic load)
7. Server management (Linux, BSD)
8. SEO/SEM and social traffic generation

I follow PEAR coding standard and support PHPdoc. I've been in adult for about 4 years and have been programming for 9. I have many references here for those who are interested.

If you're interested, please send an email to kris at adultapi dot com or an icq to 324500546

Thanks!

He's a solid dude, and it'll be very hard to find another programmer that has as much experience and ability as mrkris. I'd wish you luck, but I have sincere doubts that you'll need it. :winkwink:

k0nr4d 01-23-2009 01:00 PM

I highly recommend this guy. he's the second best programmer on gfy :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

are you looking to work full time for someone or taking on projects right now until something full time comes along?

I'm up for both right now.

drocd 01-23-2009 02:16 PM

I have a feeling it won't take long for a program to snatch him up full-time. Any program that can afford him will not be disappointed.

DomP_nl 01-23-2009 02:49 PM

Kris is the guy you need when y're looking for a developer

BradM 01-23-2009 02:54 PM

I do side work all the time :)

StuartD 01-23-2009 07:13 PM

If we were going to hire a programmer for ATK, I would push as hard as I could for you man.

To anyone who may need some programming work, definitely go with mrkris.
Not only is his code way better than my own, but he's been (behind the scenes) helping myself and many other coders around here to learn new and better techniques.

That's not just rare, that's unique.

D Ghost 01-23-2009 07:57 PM

Bump for mrkris.... :thumbsup

Shai West 01-23-2009 08:35 PM

Mrkris rocks!!! Bump for you!!!:thumbsupxxx

dissipate 01-23-2009 08:42 PM

Besides being a pretty good coder, I've uh...heard .... he has baby soft skin.

Mutt 01-23-2009 08:47 PM

mrkris is a good dude and a coding fiend - he talks way over my head but he has a passion for coding that other programmers don't seem to have. he's done small stuff for me and he didn't even charge me! he felt bad that he couldn't take a fairly big job for me since he was full time in house at the time so he did the small mods for me for free.

i don't think he'll be on the market long.

d-null 01-24-2009 01:50 AM

bump for you and a quick semi off topic question

I'm curious about ruby on rails, can you point out an example website that was done entirely in ruby on rails?

For a ASP.NET developer , should they learn RR or PHP ? or even bother because we are so spoiled with M$ stuff ?

I can't even begin to comprehend why someone would use a proprietary language on a proprietary server platform. It boggles my mind. Anyway, to answer your question, pick up PHP. You'll be glad you did.

I agree...but what people are saying is that if I am going to put an effort i should go for RR just because it has some of the similar stuff that i do such as MVC etc.

Lots of frameworks for lots of different languages use the MVC system. RoR doesn't have a monopoly on that. CakePHP is decent. http://cakephp.org/

One of the reason i still do work on net is because of the rich 3rd party support, see

Windows and .NET are fine for a corporate environment (if you're into that whole corporate thing).

Really, we just build websites and sell porn. That's it.
