Lame gallery makers

You all know I market for Triplexcash and College Fuck Fest...

But on the side I have my own links list that I run more or less for fun in my spare time.

What I notice recently is that I'm on a few auto-submitters list and frankly the majority of galleries that come from auto-submitters look like crap... they have low quality pics, repetitive use of the same pics over and over, many of which I'm sure are not licensed to use by the webmaster.

What's on my mind right now, however, is this. I was looking through my own archives and noticed that a hell of a lot of galleries I approved some time ago have removed the link back to my links list. It looks like the webmasters who have done this are simply re-using the exact same galleries from before, changing the links to other lists and TGPs and re-submitting them for new listings to different TGPs.

Maybe I don't pay enough attention to my links list, but like I said I do it purely on the side, but these fuckers are getting banned.
Anyone else experience this?

funkmaster 11-15-2002 08:36 AM

... it happens all the time.

Undutchable 11-15-2002 08:37 AM

I dont think that's normal.. I make duplicates of each gallery with 3 different recips on em. Removing them and submitting em to new lists would be pretty retarded, not to mention time-consuming..

Guess it's just a couple newbies?

I don't know if they're newbies, but based on the looks of their galleries, I would assume so. Time consuming? I doubt it... they're all using auto-submitters that obviously do not check galleries for any quality control whatsoever.

I own a link list and that shit happens all the time with sites. Webmasters submit their AVS sites doorway and then switch up the link after about a month. I don't see the point in removing the recip. Fools can just make a bunch of diffrent doorways and move on.:BangBang:

BTW Chirs you should switch up your recip button. It looks funny having a cat at the top of the page. I guess people will click on it to find out what it is!

Well, the auto-submitters themselves aren't gonna check for quality control...they don't give shit if you get banned or not. I mean, if you use an auto submitter in the first place you're not readin' the TGP rules.

I used to think the TGP webmasters were a little too quick w/ hittin' the blacklist button, cuz people do make mistakes. I've been banned from several for stupid mistakes...not cuz I was cheatin'. But after hearin' so many gripes about how many cheaters there are out there, I guess I can see why if the TGP webmaster doesn't know you.

Bro I never heard back about this Hun Listing Contest, when is this gonna be?

Just curious.

SleazyDream 11-15-2002 12:54 PM

a lot of people are giving up on the idea of a black list and using a good list. A black list requires you to CONSTANTLY keep watching for crooks. Having a good list means much less work cause you only post those people who you have come to trust. If someone fucks you they are gone in a heartbeat and will never be able to get in again. Use an application process and ask for REFERRALS for new people to get into the good list.

just an idea..............

I use a mix of manual submissions and auto submissions... but we hand-check the databases and check the rules pages on each TGP we're going to submit to. That means that no, we don't read the rules every submission, but we do read them once every week or two. I'm sure that a lot of people do it this way -- and I'm also sure a lot of people don't read them at all as well.

Ban first, ask questions later :D We do remove people from our blacklist if they can show they made an honest mistake.. but 900-1300 galleries a day to review and you can't waste time debating if someone made a mistake or not, especially with as many cheaters out there as there are :(

We're looking at a whitelist soon on all of our TGPs.. it's too time consuming to do reviews when there are so many people out there who cheat without even a second thought... seems to be the best way to go.

One of the TGPs (I forget which offhand) has gone to a phone verfication now on their submissions. If you're on a free host, etc... they'll give you a call -- or you can call them. All submitters have to put their phone # in and they will randomly call people to very.. pretty good idea right from the old BBS days :D

I believe it's Sublime where you have to enter your #. I've tried a number of times & have never gotten a phone call or able to be listed to there...so why even bother.

Yeah, I prefer having partner status on my fave TGPs that I submit to. Almost garaunteed a listing & you're allowed to get away w/ just a tad more than non-partenr submitters. :thumbsup

Yes, it's Sublime.
I've also tried a few times but have never recieved a call from them.
Yet, they often spider and list some of my galleries.
Go figure.

A good list would be a good idea, until the list became corrupt.

Fletch... when in the hell did you break 10K posts?

Evil Chris 11-16-2002 12:26 PM

What should I do about this, then?

Should I:
a) find and ban the auto-submitters sending me these crappy and cheating galleries?
or
b) individually ban the gallery makers who are doing this?

Suggestions?

Steve 11-16-2002 12:39 PM

1) Buy an admin script that catches this and deletes this all on it's own

2)Black list the shit out of anyone who does this

3) Block autosubmits

4) Go to partner submits only

Partner submits would take care of the whole situation I would think. Plus it's a good way to take care of quality control.
Thanks...
