hello everyone, i have read many things about how webmasters are shit etc ... but, not only webmasters ... i have one bigger site with subpages to each website and then subpages to some chosen models from that site ... to every site i made header with chosen girl from that site and the header links only to sponsor and at the pages are only links to my other sites ... yesterday i made my first sale to one ccbill sponsor ... today i woke up and wow, the sponsor sent me info that he will close my account and he contacted lawyer that i used his picture in my design ... all i used to promote his sites and to make sales was part of picture ... its a small new sponsor who can be happy for every sale, but it looks like he dont care ... i say fuck off, all links removed, and as i learned at gfy better no names, so sorry, but maybe you found something similar out also ... thanks for your time, i really needed to take that out from me ... wish you best with your sites!

Some sponsors don't allow their content to be used like that. What can I say. Lesson learned I guess!

you lose more by not naming it, than if you name it

I was expecting to read about why webmasters are full of shit. I know many on this board are full of shit and many other substances, but the title of this post should be "I can't do whatever I want to do with someone's content. If the picture wasn't provided in the webmaster section as a promo tool, then you should expect not to be able to use it.

Maybe next time you can explain why you and all other webmasters are full of shit. I'm dying to read this shocking news

Best thing to do is don't use a picture you have permission to use

I guess the paysite owner is indeed correct here. I don't think it makes sense to take it to legal extremes but the bottom line is that if they don't want certain content used, they have the right to say so.

It does seem weird that they would take it to such an extreme. One lousy pic. But, whatever. I wouldn't do that.

Guess you just move on. Lesson learned.

hm ... the picture was from promo tools, of course, i am not using anything else than material from promo tools or what i got by request from owner ... and about name, again not ... not for gfy ... i am thinking about starting a blog where i will be publishing my experiences with some sponsors, but no more names at gfy ... i like gfy and i dont want to be banned as i almost was few days ago ... thanks for understanding and wish you best with your sites!

Did you read the terms for the use of their content?
Did you contact the sponsor before hand and ask if you could use his picture as part of your design? The content may be licensed so that you can only use it to promote the sponsor and may not be allowed to use it in your site design.

Maybe if you named who it was, said sponsor might come here and tell us their side

Sorry to hear, I guess that's one of the pitfalls of using some of the smaller inexperienced sponsors, if you want to send your sales to MayorsMoney we will happily take them and allow you to use our content as well...
