Do you have a stingy side?

Tis the season for tightening the purse strings and finding your inner stingy side. Do you do anything that others would consider to be stingy?

Lately, I have been freezing the scraps from peeling vegetables and when I have enough making stock with them rather than buying vegetable stock. In the past I would have just thrown the scraps away.

What are you doing to to satisfy your tightwad side?

No, but I have a 'Stingy Hole' afeter splashing out on a curry last night... :)

Plus I have arranged with my host to switch off my servers overnight, (While I sleep) so I can get a smaller hosting bill, save electricity, and do my bit for the environment...

We've always done things like this... we buy huge packs of meat and bring them home and break them down into smaller portions just to save a few cents a pound on it..... when you raise 4 kids, you cut and save where you can. lol

We do most of our cooking at home now, where we used to eat out more frequently. This is more for our own health benefits than anything though........ since I was diagnosed as being Diabetic, I have to be really careful about what goes into my mouth and I've made the kids start being more cautious as well. We rarely buy premade candy and cakes anymore, I make them here so I can know more about what is going in it.

Ok, not to mention, with my family, I can't hardly go out and eat without spending $30-40, even if it is on hamburgers....... eating out has gotten insanely costly these days. :Oh crap

What he hell? that is way too fucking stingy to save 2$ lol I no longer spend thousands a week in restaurants so that has helped my bottom line quite a bit, other than that nothing really has changed.

Well, it tastes better too but I don't see why saving $2 is a bad thing.

I think everybody has a stingy side, well, humans are humans... hahaha

I admit to being very "stingy" with my money lately.

I scoff at the price of things now, where before i'd have just spend the money on it without thinking.

When i realised how much i used to spend going out at the weekends etc, it was crazy! I still go out, but just don't go wasting as much money now.

We've been looking to book a summer vacation, but i keep delaying it, waiting on that "better deal". Which is pissing my girlfriend off BIG TIME... :1orglaugh

Saving $2 or thinking about $2 purchases will not help your mental state unless you are putting that $2 into alcohol. :2 cents:
