Less work more money in mainstream?

It seems it takes less work to make more money in mainstream :)

In adult, for $20 people expect 3 banners a gallery etc...

In Mainstream the same package would be $200.

I wont even begin on how mainstream corporate logos take WAY less work and revisions than any porn logo. Difference in price, adult logo = $40 mainstream logo $125

hehe i hear you! thats a conservative estimate, Ive seen prices from 400+ to $125...

I started in mainstream and then found money in adult, however never stopped doing mainstream work on the side, and now I am branching more mainstream.

Going local and i cant help but comment on this here... I am working on mainstream stuff and I always think about how much more work it takes to do porn stuff vs mainstream...

The only thing about main stream is how fucking bitchy they can be. Man people think adult webmasters are hard to deal with...

id rather deal with a real company who has something at stake than many surfer turn webmasters who have $35 to spend and want a tour. One is being picky because they can be, the other is being picky because he is running an actual company and doing face to face business.

Not necessarily true. I've seen adult clients out of their mind picky, and had mainstream clients pay extra upon delivery they were so pleased.

The more profitable an industry is, the nicer the people are. :1orglaugh

if you are mainstream company, you need one website and one logo ... if you are doing adult, you need many tgps, blogs, tubes so it means many logos to promote one product ... or something like that ... :)

You can get a mainstream logo for $25 easily, you just gotta know where to go, there are oodles of logo designers out there crawling the many forums looking to make a buck, lots of competition thus they will work for next to nothing.

I used to do logos about 6 years ago, at that time I charged between $35-$50, then as more and more designers started opening shop the cost of a logo dropped as low as $15.

It was then that I decided to close shop, isnt worth while making logos at $15 a pop.

Make sure you write good terms and make them sign a contract. Trust me, I learned it the hard way.

Some people can be a real pain in the ass and when you're working locally you have to keep in mind you're working with people with NO web experience. For example, they order something and then when it's all done they end up wanting a CMS because they thought it was easy to edit a website. Then when you give them a CMS they don't know how to use it and want you to train them etc.
