Restroom / Bathroom

i dont get it why is it called a RESTroom, i work hard there on my poos. BATHroom, is that a shy RESTroom name?

it should be Shitter and Shower correspondently.

Because if you live in a studio apartment with a mate this is the only place to
go to get some rest.

tranza 01-16-2009 09:26 AM

Maybe they should call restroom the one that doesn't have a bathtub or a shower...

What about washroom, watercloset, or loo? I always thought those were even sillier names ;)

When my son was around 10 we were in Canada on vacation and he pointed out the laundry room - the washroom, lol.

I usually call it a bathroom in a house and a restroom in a business. Don't know why.......

Everyone one here just calls it the toilet...

When I was in first grade, the sign on the door said "lavatory" and it was very confusing to be taught that "lavatory" was the correct word to use for what I KNEW was a fucking BATHROOM.

hehe

I remember being in England and going into a room marked "Bathroom" and finding myself face-to-face with a bathtub. :error

I started looking for rooms marked "Toilets" after that. Oddly enough, the usually-thought-inhibited English have no problem saying "toilet." Even when they don't have to and a quick "Excuse me, I'll be right back" would have gotten them out of the conversation.

No, they say "I'm going to the toilet." Which was a lot harder to get used to.

"The Shitter" pretty much sums it up for me.

I really only like to take craps at home because I buy super soft toilet paper (nothing but the best for my tush). I can't stand that sandpaper most commercial buildings and restaurants use.

Besides, I get really self-conscious if someone is in another stall and can here me doing my business...I usually have to wait until they leave. :party-smi
