Ever have an embarrassing 'wrong window' moment?
 

It doesn't happen all that often to me but it does happen. A bit earlier today I was typing away a message in an icq window that I thought was going to my husband at his work. It was about a repair guy coming to repair part of our oven and about what I am going to make for food tonight. Then I looked up and saw I was sending those messages to somebody who had hit me up about design work.

It could have been worse but still!


Have you ever had any embarrassing 'wrong window' moments?

I've had that happen to me more than once. Once I thought I was sending a message to a fellow co-worker but I had actually sent it to my boss. It was very strange, especially since the message was talking about the boss. It didn't say anything really damaging, so I managed to talk my way out of it.

All I'll say is this: Multiple girlfriends who all have msn and are online at the same time = trouble.

The best thing you could do is not use names.

One of the many reasons I stopped IM ing.

Never had it happen with IMing but have had it happen when I have recieved a few text messages right on top of each other. Answered the wrong one a few times but thank god nothing seriously embarressing yet. I am sure its just a matter of time.

Recently I was talking to a guy friend on Skype and like 15 minutes after we finish talking I get a message saying, "I love you. Call me before you go to bed." He was pretty embarrassed :1orglaugh

Yup very easy to do on the iphone I was chatting to my fiance whilst sending a text to my mate long story short i signed the message "love you babe xxxx" :Oh crap = one very worried friend :1orglaugh

Maybe you only think it was an accident and he was just testing the waters ..lol

I used to do that on aol pre 2k. I am too old to manage more than one conversation at a time now. :1orglaugh

I had one today, a woman I was working with had just made a bit of a flirty message to me "Give it to me" she wrote. I was talking to admin about our monitoring software and wrote "mmmm" like I was thinking - of course, sent it to the woman by mistake. bah, sexual harassment incoming...

I was about to log into my email once when an ICQ popped up, and I somehow ended up sending my password to some random person inquiring about work.

Another time, I sent off a long rant about an annoying client to my boss, only to realize that I had accidentally sent it to another client... Luckily, NOT the one I was ranting about!

The last time that happened was with someone from this board actually...

Always call girlfriends (and wives) "hun" or "sweety" so most anything you say is universal...saved my life a few times. That wrong window thing can really fuck you up!

I was going between 3 -4 windows .. complaining to one guy about the other 2 I had in the other windows ... caught up .. laughing .. dissing .. just all in all being an ass .. and bam .. typed while reading .. into the wrong window ... enter .. and then the silence of .. uh .. oops ... hahaha

once.. with my boss.. twas funny!

If my husband starts calling me either of those on PMs I will start the investigations.
