ALIEN microbes living just below the Martian soil are responsible for a haze of methane around the Red Planet, Nasa scientists believe.
The gas, belched in vast quantities in our world by cows, was detected by orbiting spacecraft and from Earth using giant telescopes.
Today’s conference will be broadcast live online by NASA TV (www.nasa.gov/ntv) at 7pm. (UK time)

I've read about that "Theory" about 12-24 months ago in a Scientific magazine, and as I see it's still just a well founded speculation, not a fact....

Blazed 01-15-2009 05:08 AM

I wonder what alien microbes taste like.

"they believe" are the keywords. Means they haven't found any evidence YET.

if you look at AlienQ Cum-towel and the surface of Mars in a electron microscope, I think they will appear quite similar to the average person

Large quantities of methane gas have been detected on Mars, Nasa scientists have announced in Science journal.
The gas could be produced either by geological activity or by life.
Basically, they've extended previous observations of methane to pockets of methane. They have no idea though how it's produced.

However, grant time is in March, so always a good time to whet the politicians' appetites....

ADL Colin 01-15-2009 12:15 PM

New administration. It's funding season

Lykos 01-15-2009 12:19 PM
